Our goal is to pay off our student loans in 5 years, starting in February after the wedding. Fingers crossed!! Then we’ll be able to buy a house

Student loans, probably 5 years left.

I use my credit card monthly (especially with wedding expenses) for the points, though I typically pay it off every month.  For example, I have cash for my photographer’s balance due ($2300) but I’m putting that on my credit card since she’ll let me and paying it off immediately.  Credit can be great if you do it right.

I also have a couple no interest credit cards and I’ll sometimes put $400-$600 on it and pay it off over a few months.  No reason not to take my time on it.  Example, just bought a new vaccuum and put it on there.  If they want to give me an interest free loan I might as well take a few months to pay it off.

We have no debt! 😀 Both extremely lucky to have our parents pay for our university tuition. And Fiance had saved up enough money by the end of university to buy his car (that we share) outright.

I have no debt… EXCEPT… my student loans, I’d imagine short of winning the lottery I’ll be paying those for the rest of my life (or if I can outlast the government and discharge my loans after 25 years).

Fiance has 22k in student loan debt, I have zero, I carry a balance of 200$ tops on my visa, and his usually sits at zero. We’re saving for a downpayment to build currently. His student loans will be paid off in 4.8 years.

We will probably be paying on student loan debt for 10 years after we graduate (graduate next spring), that is if I decide not to go to graduate school.

We would like to live as debt free as possible, so no car loans (only buying cars within your means to put cash down in full for it & drive it off the lot free & clear), & no credit card debt.

We are willing to live a very modest life in order to set ourselves up for a future that includes lots of travel & a carefree retirement.

5 or so years. I just bought a brand new car and so the car payments have begun! Plus I still have student debt that I’m slowly paying off. I could get rid of it in 3 months or so if I wanted to, but I have other expenses/hobbies to pay for.
