I was able to pick up my daughter’s at four weeks.  Thye told us at the hospital it would be 6 weeks, but I went early just to check, and they had it in.

The hospital has someone come into your room to fill out the initial paperwork; we picked up the birth certificate from the county clerk’s office.   They also might mail it to you, if you request it.

My daughters was mailed to me. When flying, they usually dont ask to see a baby’s birth certificate until they’re at walking age since a plane ticket is free before 2 years of age. I flew with my daughter when she was 3 months and again at 8 months and i didnt have to show her birth certificate either times.

You need to check with the hospital/county clerk.  We filled out the paperwork and went to pick hers up at the county clerk.  We also got several copies, just in case.  Her ss card arrived in like 2 weeks in the mail.

Our hospital gave us a ‘proof of birth’ letter that I took when we flew.  No one asked for it though.  I still haven’t applied for his birth certicate and he’s 2 month old.  Opps 🙂
