You’re kind of assuming you’re going to get pregnant right away.  I don’t think you can plan that accurately when it comes to concieving, you know?  Some couples are lucky on the first try, others take months.

We got very lucky. The first time we TTC it took 2 months. I miscarried and started TTC right when my doctor said I could, and I was pregnant that month. But again, I was very lucky! I don’t think the timing of getting pregnant is really something you can plan.

There are so many factors too- when people say they got it on the first try- what does that mean exactly?  Were they charting prior?  Were they secretly trying before they said they were?  The people I know planned and tried long before they said they did (just saying-) so it seemed like they got it right away, but I know that might not be the case.  I just take that into consideration always.

I got off birth control this past Oct. after being on it for ten years straight, we started trying Nov. 8th and on Nov. 30th I found out I was pregnant. I never in a million years thought it would be that fast. I think though it is very common for it to take couples 6 months to a year to conceive.

We definitely got lucky as well.  Went off birth control the end of Sept. (similar to previous post…was on it for almost 10 years) and got pregnant in Dec.  Super excited!  We weren’t sure how long it was going to take, but were extremely excited that it didn’t take long.  I’ve had many friends who have had issues and because I just turned 31 we figured we should start trying right away in case it took us a while to conceive as well.  All the best to you and your soon to be hubby!

I know my girlfriend went off BC in March but didn’t start trying until after she had her first period to “flush” her system and was pregnant by July,  but it is totally a crapshoot.  My other friend wasn’t trying to get pregnant and missed a couple birthcontrol pills and wound up pregnant that way.

i would say to always plan on it happening right away because everyone is different and you NEVER know what youre body is going to do.
