So I love my photographer a lot. However, we got our engagement pictures taken in the middle of November and we STILL haven’t received them all! I know that the holidays probably slowed her down and interrupted her normal work process, but 2 months seems like a long time to not have received all of our pictures. I asked for a few sneak peaks right before Christmas and she sent 3 AMAZING pictures, which is great, but I’m dying to see the rest. Should I bug her again?? What is the normal turn around time for a 2.5 hour enagement shoot? Our wedding is in 2 months and it would be crazy to not have received all of our engagement photos before that.

Is there anything in your contract? Our engagement photos took about a week and a half (and our photographer apologized for taking so long – he says it usually takes him about a week), but there was a 2 week deadline in our contract for engagement photos.

Ours was about a month? We did ours mid-september and got our photos back learly november-ish. I know our photographers were slowed down a bit because they were opening a studio/store at the time.

They shouldn’t take that long… Maybe a month? Month and a half tops? Is photography her primary job?

As a photographer, I normally take anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on the type and length of the shoot. 2.5 hours is a long time, how many photos did she say she is including? I also take longer if my daughter has been sick, etc, but I always let clients know.
Family stuff happens, and especially since you hit that huge, chaotic few week stretch of the Holidays, I would give her another week before you send her anything. When/if you have to I would just casually say “I hope that all is well, I’m so excited to see the rest of your beautiful work for us!”

Yep, full-time photographer with excellent reviews on wedding wire, etc highly reccommended by my planner. Sounds like a month is pretty standard then

If you are that anxious about receiving your photos, I’d email the photographer a lighthearted message just asking for the ETA. No harm in that! But also keep in mind that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years all happened during this two month window. And photographers need time off too.
