On average, how long did it take you to send out your thank yous for gifts received before the wedding?
I’m trying to send mine in a timely fashion, but it’s tough because we have the gifts sent to Future Mother-In-Law house so they won’t be stolen (she is at home generally during the day). So we have a delay based on when we can pick them up from her each week, plus of course I’m going crazy starting a new job + trying to plan a wedding myself (FI is zero help). I’m hoping I’m not too far off the average.

I’ve sent all of ours out within a few days. I’m out of town (doing last minute wedding stuff) & Fiance has been opening the packages & reporting back to me on what has been sent so I can mail out thank yous immediately.
ETA: I feel like (for me, at least) punctuality on thank you notes for these sort of gifts is more important than for wedding or shower gifts because your Thank You note lets the recipient know you’ve received the gift.

I feel like, obviously, the sooner the better. But if I were a guest sending a gift, I guess I’d hope to receive a thank you within 1 week of its arrival– just so I know it was received at least! Probably within 2 weeks if I knew it was given at a shower or a time of large gift giving when the bride might be behind schedule 🙂

our wedding is still a few months away, but the gifts we have gotten I have sent out thank yous the next day or the day after. I have a stack of generic ‘Thank you’ cards and envelopes that are kind of our wedding colours sitting on our table so I just fill it out then and drop it in the mail, Our thank you notes afterwards will hopefully match our invites and have a picture of us in them, but this will do for now.
