rachelavb:  That’s almost exactly how it went down with my husband. We were 16, had been dating for 7 weeks, and he woke me up from a nap.

Like 10 days, we were drunk and about to go off to separate universities. He said it first, I wasn’t quite there but parroted it back politely!

He told me after knowing me for about three weeks, and I told him after about 6 weeks.

I went from never telling a guy first, to telling Darling Husband within weeks. I couldn’t even believe the words had come out of my mouth!  He reciprocated a week later.

Darling Husband and I have a long history. We met when we were 13.  We were a couple all through high school and he first told me he loved me on my 15th birthday.  It was so cute because he said he wanted to tell me sooner but he didn’t want me to think he was “weird”.

We got engaged for the first time in college when I was 20 and he was 21.  But we broke up right before my 22nd birthday.

We were apart for nearly 7 years.  He told me he had always loved me 2 weeks after we got back together.

He said it six weeks after we started dating.

When he said it, there was something in me that just let go.

I had been playing it cool up to that point, but when he was vulnerable with me like that, I allowed myself to be more vulnerable with him.

So in that moment, I told him I loved him too.

I didn’t necessarily expect we would eventually get married, but in that moment, I knew on some level that this was It.

The first 2 months of our relationship we were together 24/7 as we worked together, shared a hotel room, etc. Then he had to go work elsewhere when our contract ended (we worked seasonal) for 2.5 months and about 1.5-2 months into that he called me and basically said “… I have to tell you something… I love you”. I said it back and we haven’t looked back!

The thing that threw me off was in a previous relationship I my ex said “…I need to tell you something… I cheated on you.” So at first I was like “NOT AGAIN!!!”

About 8 months in or so. At six months in, it was obvious he was in love with me but had never said it. He had actually never said it to any girl before (he was 29). I asked him if he loved me one night at dinner and he coyly replied “I’m not sure…do you love me?” I smiled and said “I’m not sure.” But I was totally sure that I loved him (and vice versa) at six months. For weeks after that I was bursting to tell him that I was in love with him. One night after far too many glasses of wine, I told him. BUT, I didn’t remember him saying it back because I had been drunk! So a few days later I asked him, “Did I say something really embarrassing the other night when I was drunk?” And he was like, “Like you love me? Yeah, you totally did. And I told you I love you too.” Awww. Can’t wait to marry this guy.

My SO said it in about a month. I didn’t say back until a month later lol. When he said, I kind of freaked a little because I thought it was too early. All the guys I’ve dated, we said it like 6 months later. However, after awhile I started to realize that I more than just liked him. ๐Ÿ™‚

We were highschool sweets but he said it to me before we were even officially going out-just friends at the time, when his dad was rushed to the hospital and it kinda just came out, looking back it was one of the best days even with the surrounding circumstances and stress, it was the right time for us despite everything ๐Ÿ™‚

KateyGrace:  my husband and I started pretty unconventionally. He and I had both just gotten out of long relationship and he was looking for an apartment and I was looking for a roommate. He moved in with me the week after my boyfriend had moved out. He weren’t even very good friends at that point lol. But we spent a lot of time together and eventually started a “friends with benefits” kind of relationship. After about a month of just fooling around everyone was saying we should just be a couple since we acted like it already so we have it a shot. We were together officially for about a month and we were (sorry for the Too Much Information lol) doing it in my car since we had guests staying in the house lol. And I started to cry because I knew I actually loved him. To I told him and he said he tried to tell me a couple days before and it just came out as “love ya” and he got scared so he just left haha. And we’ve been together ever since.

So in short, like 2 months ๐Ÿ˜…

I think we’d been together 4 or 5 months at the time. We started going out in October and said it sometime the following spring.

It took us about 6 months. I was studying abroad in another country for the first 3 of those months, so our relationship got off to a pleasantly slow and steady start.

    About 6 months.

I can’t believe all these people who are saying less than 3 months, or even just a few weeks!
