30+ minutes is dragging in my opinion. Ours won’t be that long even because I don’t want to bore my guests.

@MrsWBS:  Me too but I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in one and attended the pre-service stuff which started at 7am and the reception ended at 1am. But that said we were treated so well as were all the guests. There was continuous food and drink and places to sit.

I have been to an orthodox service (the couple were Macedonian) and the ceremony was 3 hours and in Macedonian.

My wedding on the other hand- the ceremony was 7 minutes.

I think it is up to the couple but if you are going with long make sure everyone has a seat!

Most weddings i have attended were around 20-30mins.

my favorite weddings are those under half an hours. I have been to two wedding in my life that were over an hour. One of them I actually had to leave part way through becuase the children I was with could not handle it so we stood in the back. The other one everyone took it very gracefully but the family sure complained about it at future gatherings.

I def think you should aim for about 30 minutes, if it goes on for 45 thats okay. Keep in mind that your guests would’ve already been waiting for you to arrive for about 10 to 15 minutes if not more because you can only arrive once everyone is there. I see you’re getting married in Jan – will the ceremony be outside because then you have to keep in mind that all of you will be standing in the sun for the whole ceremony so the longer it goes on for the hotter and more uncomfortable everyone will get. I can tell you that wedding dresses are hot, having all those eyes on you makes you even hotter as does the stress of repeating your vows correctly. The ceremony is this surreal experience, I am happy we had a videographer to capture it because i was super nervouse and even though it was 30minutes long it felt like we were standing up there for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages and I actually couldnt remember half of what the officiant said even though I wrote most of it myself.

Maybe pick your favourite two and do those, the other ones you love you could do in private with just you and your husband or even just infront of your family after the wedding if you really would like to do all of them.
