Hi Bee’s! We are trying to plan timing for our wedding shower. I’m not sure what time to put on the invitations? It’s going to be at a condo clubhouse (catered). So we are going to eat, open gifts and have cake. Is 3 hours enough time? It’s going to be about 20 people. Thinking of 1:30 – 4:30pm.
Also, my fiance and I are funding the money for 85% of it. We don’t feel that we need to have a “given by” on the invites. Anyone else do this as well? Any advice on invitation wording?

Mine was 3 hours, and that was plenty of time for brunch, gifts, and cake. Nobody really wants to spend all day at a bridal shower, so I wouldn’t go longer than that.

The ladies at work organized and surprised me with a bridal shower, they were so great! They did a potluck lunch, which lasted about two hours. It was really sweet and I found it to be the perfect amount of time! Everyone got a chance to eat and relax and then we did presents and cake. I still have that Tiara somewhere that my boss made me wear….

I think 3 hours or less would be good. As a guest anything more than 3 hours I’m ready to blow my mind up.

Mine was yesterday, 11am – 1pm. We used the patio area of a great diner here in town. There were about 9 of us, and we had brunch, played a couple games, I opened the gifts and we took some pictures.
It was the perfect amount of time.

Mine lasted about 3 hours and it was plenty. A good hour and a half of that was spent opening presents so 2 hours wouldn’t have cut it for us.

I have gone to ones that have lasted 3-4 hours. Depending on who it was for though. My extended family likes to make a huge affair out of things so sometimes we would stay so catch up, hang around, and eat more food.

Thanks so much ladies! You’ve confirmed that 3 hours should be perfect.
@ViaMinorViator: Love the tiara idea!! That’s too cute!
@UpstateCait: Those were my thoughts as well. If there are a ton of gifts to open, I would like enough time to open all of them.
