The ceremony was 11 minutes (no joke!), and the reception 4 1/2 hours. We were allowed to take pics on the site (art museum) even though we could only have 5 hours for the event.

Our ceremony started at 6 PM and our reception ended right before midnight – so 6 hours.

Oh, and I would check – do the hours you are paying for have to include the set up and tear down time frame? We got 2 hours for setup before and 45 minutes for teardown. So, just under 8 hours total time.

Our ceremony started at 2pm and was over before 3pm…. the next day our reception started at 5pm and ended at 9pm.  However, our photographer was there from 9am until 430pm for our ceremony, and then again the next day from 4pm until just before 9pm.  He wanted to capture our hair/makeup shots, and getting dressed, and then do family photos and couples shots after the ceremony, and at the reception he wanted to get detail shots and setting up shots prior to guests getting there.  I love him for it since our contract only guaranteed us 6 hours of shooting!
