Almost 2 years. It came as a complete surprise.

We were together for over 7 years before he proposed, but the first time we talked about getting married was like a year and a half before we even started dating (only half-jokingly)! =)

We met and became very close friends at the start of college, but it took us a while to get our act together. After that, we both knew it was a done deal but neither of us felt rushed about it. First we were waiting until we’d checked off some life goals, and then we sort of settled into a routine where we basically felt married and just hadn’t gotten around to making it official. We’re both super happy that it’s finally happening though!

2 years. I moved in with him after a year and then we started to look to buy a home. We made an offer on a place and it was accepted. He told me to come to the new house to “measure windows” as it had no coverings and we live in a busy street downtown. He was waiting for me on one knee in the master bedroom!!!

From casual chatter 2013 to being married 2016. The time FLEW. I didn’t even see him other than one week in 2013 cause I was so busy finishing my degree across the country. We talked daily though in a friendly way via text and face time.  2014 I was with him all year and moved in together in the fall. 2015 military had us moving and I’m now in his home in texas. He had a house he bought 10 years ago that he has been renting out. 2016 May- we married.

We are in our mid to late 30’s, We were both very ready to take the next step together. Everything is really great. Very smooth, no worried waiting or mismatched hopes or lifestyle choices.

I feel very calm and pleased – I know he does too. I feel very happy with someone I know is my friend as well as the ultimate team mate and fantastic love.

The only thing he is bad at is gift giving LOL – He is a TECH dude- and I’m a romantic flowery person but HEY!! can’t have it all!

About 9.5 years, but we started dating very young at 18.

Also, I’ve been telling him for years that there’s no rush for marriage so that’s probably why it took a long time.

5.5 years. We were 19 when we got together, so until very recently I felt too young to get married.

Knew eachother 3 years, started dating 2 years after that.

Discussed marriage 6 months in. 3 months later, he proposed.

He said he knew I will be his wife after our first long conversation ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve known each other for 15 years. Probably 1-2 months into dating, we started talking about marriage. We set a timeline about 8 months in, and he proposed almost 2.5 years into dating (which matched out timeline and priority of getting a house first).

My parents started talking about getting married 2 WEEKS after MEETING each other, and they got engaged 6 months into dating. They celebrated their 36th anniversary earlier this week. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t think everyone’s timeline is or should be the same.
