3 months. We were married 5 months later.

We knew each other (barely) from college about 7 years earlier but we didn’t keep in touch.

    Worked beautifully for us.

countingstars :  unofficially (as in, we lived together but still technically had separate apartments) @1.5 months. Officially moved in together @ 6 months. Not too soon at all for us. Fwiw, I was 29 and he was 27 at the time.

Darling Husband moved in 3 days before our wedding. Ideally we would have liked to live together much sooner than that, but things just didn’t work out that way. We’ve been married a little over 3 months so living together is still fairly new for us, but so far so good. We dated for 10 months before getting engaged and were engaged for 13 months before getting married.

    4 months.

I’d known him for 2 or 3 months before we started dating. We moved 1200 miles across the country together.

It was a terrible decision that should have failed but I was 22 and an idiot. Luckily, it worked out. We lived together for almost 4 years before getting married.

Darling Husband and I were engaged when he moved in, but we’d been together for more than a year at that point. Both of us considered it to be a big step. I can’t imagine the hassle and trauma of moving out of a place because you’re no longer in a relationship together.

Three years, but we were young when we started dating (18/19). We moved in together when we graduated college, just over 3 years after we started dating.

My sister, who’s in her early 30s, just moved in with her boyfriend after about 9-10 months of dating.

We moved in a little after 2 years. I was 24 and FH was 33. He had never lived with a girl before and really wanted to be sure before moving in. (I had lived with my ex so I wasn’t opposed to moving in earlier). We were engaged one year later and are getting married in October!

We moved in together when we’d been dating 6 years – BUT we are high school sweethearts and were aged 23 and 22 respectively. I always feel like I need to clarify our ages when answering questions like this lol, as we were together a long time before doing a lot of things mostly due to our age.

We would have been happy to move in together earlier, but we wanted to finish university and buy a house so lived with our parents until our deposit was where we wanted it.

7 years (started dating at 18, had a couple periods of long distance) We didn’t move in together until we were engaged. Waiting so long did make moving in together super easy, it was a completely seamless transition.

Officially, we moved in together after dating for just before 3 years.

Unofficially, after 1 year, we basically spent 2 weeks at his apartment and 2 weeks at mine for a year. Both had separate apartments but basically lived together.

He went abroad for 1 year and then we moved in together.

We had been dating for a little over 1 year when we moved in together, although we decided to move in after dating for 9 months. Got engaged after living together for 6 months and getting married next year. 🙂

I moved in after 11 months. I was 29 (he 28) and it turned out to be good timing for us. He would have liked me to move in after 7 or 8 months, but I was having interstate guests visit for a few weeks so I was more comfortable hosting in my own house for that. I’d also been told all these horror stories about moving in too quick and guys getting comfortable etc. so I wanted it to be around the 12 month mark. In hindsight, the horror stories were just that and we are our own couple. All has worked perfectly in my opinion.
