We will be engaged for exactly one month tomorrow! And we are getting married in about two weeks. The timing was decent for planning a typical wedding. I wish it had been shorter and we had just eloped though.

A little over 7 months. It was more than enough time for me to plan my wedding.

We’re having a 3 month long (or short, lol) engagement

I think a lot of it can depend on when you get engaged…For example if you want to get married in July, then get proposed to in May..that may not be enough time for you, so you have to be engaged for over a year…whereas if you get engaged in the fall then you could have plenty of time to plan a wedding for that upcoming july and not have to wait a full year.

Exactly 6 months. We got engaged 10-13-12 and married on our three year sating anniversary 4-13-13. I may or may not have had a lot of the planning done before we were engaged.

17 months. It took me a bit to figure out what kind of wedding I wanted.

LOL. We got engaged December 2007 and married August 2012. I was waiting for my daughter to graduate from college.

6 weeks unofficially, 4 officially.. Decided to get married 20th of July, went ring shopping the 21st then again the following weekend. Received the proper proposal and got officially engaged 2nd of August then got married on the 23 August!

@smarie13: By the time we get married in July we will have been engaged for 3 years and 23 days!!! I DO NOT recommend that long of an engagement to anyone ! 😛

It will be 19 months plus 19 day. That wasn’t even planned like that! Lol
EtA: we were 28 when we got engaged. We will be 29 when married and 30 on our honeymoon a couple months after the wedding.

@smarie13: I was 29 and was engaged for 1.5 years. It was going to be 2.5 years to allow us to save, which with hindsight would’ve been the best idea but my Mother-In-Law at the time wasn’t very well.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Greenbrier Country Club
2 months away from a 2 year long engagement.
I voted for “over 2 years” because none of the answers really fit, but I wanted to vote 🙂
