@radar:  We knew within a week or two. We were only engaged about three months before we got married though!

We set a timeframe very quickly because I already knew what time of year I wanted to get married. We didn’t set an actual date for about a month or so, I think? We chose our venue first and set the date based on what was available.

We got engaged in Feb of 2012, and we both knew we wanted a late summer/early fall wedding. Sept 2012 was way too soon for us, so we knew we would look around late summer/early fall for 2013. I thought we’d book a venue 3-4 months after being engaged… it ended up only being one month! I went to look at a venue with my mom and we fell in LOVE. And a few days after my visit I found out that in the past two weeks 30 OTHER BRIDES had visited. They only do weekend weddings from April-Oct, and only on about half of those weekends!!! Soooooo we jumped on it 😛

We set a time frame before we were “technically” engaged, and I picked a date I liked and that worked around the same time.

We had the hall reserved within a week. I want to say we got engaged on a Tuesday, looked at the hall Saturday, had the down payment ready to go on Monday.

But, a week or two before I was engaged, I had also been calling around to halls and getting ideas of prices. We chose our wedding date because it was one of the last two off-season Friday dates they had. It saved us several hundred dollars doing it, too.

Then, of course, people start complaining about the date you picked.

You can’t win with this stuff, I’m tellin’ ya.

We set a wedding date pretty quickly.  We originally wanted to get married around 5 months from getting enaged, but that didn’t work out (school reasons) so we got married 14 months later (the following summer).

About a month or so after the proposal!

We set our date the week after our engagement (Feb. 2012) and had our venue contract signed three weeks after our engagement – and apparently all the other Saturdays in June were already taken! I’m so glad we didn’t wait any longer, otherwise we would have had to choose a different venue.

We became engaged and chose a date that night haha. I guess we were overly excited.. but it’s a good thing we did because from the moment we became engaged to the day of our wedding, we have (one day) less than 9 months for everything.

We pretty much set a date within a few days. I’m friends with the priest that married us, so I had the luxury of calling his cell phone and asking his availabilty and time frame we would need.

We talked about it and chose a season after a couple of months.

Set a date and booked venue after 4 months.

It took us about a week after we were engaged to come up with a budget, then we looked at venues and set a date about a week after that.
