My dress is latte colored.  It was the best look against my skin, I was opposed to wearing white anyway, and the ivory just did nothing for me (my complexion) at all.

I decided to wear Royal Purple just for the h*ll of it and I’m 48. Wear what you like and what flatters you.

I’ve been debating the idea of a colored dress. I agree that white and ivory are boring and somewhat outdated. I am hesitant because I feel like this is the only time you can really wear an all white gown and be appropos; you could wear a colored gown for any event. I’m still not sure yet.

I feel like if you want a colored dress then go for it! Mines is Ivory but I wish I would have found my dress in a blush pink color.

Mine is ivory too but I think my mother doesnt really like the dress I picked plus as these wedding plans are coming together, it seems like the dress I chose just doesnt fit my overall wedding vision. So my mother and I are going to look at some more wedding dresses next sat and Im actually thinking about a peach wedding dress. I kind of implied a “colored” dress to my mother and she was a bit surprised at me wanting to do this. All I can think about is wearing a beautiful peach ballgown (or princess) while my bridesmaids carry peach flowers and I carry white. I think everyone would be shocked but I have never been short on surprising people so my family expects me to be different… Its actually a lot of pressure to keep up uniqueness!!!

Sorry ladies but since my last post I went looking for a peach wedding dress and found one!!! And, I purchased it today!!!!!!!!! I showed my mother this time before I bought it and she absolutely loved it!!! I thought I was going to get a strange reaction out of her because it wasnt a “white” traditional dress but she didnt act that way at all. She responded the way a MOB was supposed to respond to a dress that her and her daughter agrees on. I am very very happy I made this choice!!!! However, Im not going to tell anyone about my choice. So as far as they will know, they will think Im still wearing the other dress. I cant wait till my day to shock everyone!

What’s funny is that I NEVER wanted a white wedding dress that is until I tried one on. It just looked amazing against my skin. Boring maybe but I think it looked best on me. I do however love that you ladies are using color for self expression.
