AnonymousCupcake:  why not have them only invited to one shower? i would feel weird if i was invited to 2 showers for the same person. it is totally normal for the guest of honor to provide a guest list. maybe include a certain group of friends on your family’s side (long time high school/college friends) and a different group of friends on his family’s side (friends you have as a couple). Just an idea…

I only had one, but I’ve definitely heard of people having multiple showers thrown for them. As long as the same people aren’t invited to more than one (other than mothers/MILS), I don’t think it’s a big deal.

I’m pretty sure I will be thrown at least 2. One by family & friends, and the other by my co-workers. I may end up with 1 family & friend shower for each side (mine and Mr. LK) because it’s customary for the momma’s side and children are extremely rare in Mr. LK’s family so I imagine that they may be quite stoked to celebrate seperately.

I had one big shower thrown by my mother in law, but I can understand why someone might have 2 smaller showers due to logistics/location.  I think as long as there are two different guest lists, it would be fine.

I had two showers with my son, one for friends and one for family and I like the way it worked out. No one was invited to both though.

I had 3 showers because my family is an hour away. They did one, my fmil did one and I had one at work

I live 6 hours away from my family so I had one down there hosted by my mother and friends and then one near where I live hosted by my in laws.  It was nice to have two otherwise a lot of people would not have been included.

I’ll probably be having two. My family lives 5 hours away and I don’t want to make family come all the way up here again. My wedding was different couldn’t get married down there if my wedding was up here haha.
