Is there no access to decent tap water at your venue?  If so, I’d probably just go with ice and that.  It probably won’t be too hot next weekend.  We had a summer outdoor wedding with 75 people, and went through our 150 bottles in an hour.

As for pop, I’d probably plan for 2.5 per person beteween the non drinkers and mix if you’re having hard liquor.  It’s fairly inexpensive and you can always just drink it later.

@BetterSherm:  Well then I think there’s a bit of an expectation by a lot of people if you’re having a dinner that there’ll be water glasses at the table.  I’d get probably 10 4 litre jugs to fill all glasses from, and then maybe 4 cases of water in single serve bottles?  If you do all single serve bottles, I’d think you should have at least 2 per person.  Again, if you don’t finish it at the wedding, you could probably return any unopened cases.

No, just a straight 200 bottles if you’re only going to hand them out if someone asks would probably be sufficient.  I’m assuming a 4 hour reception.  If you have a lot of heavy drinkers that you think you can convince to alternate alcohol/water then I might go 3 per person.

@BetterSherm:  Plan on your guests to consum 1 drink every hour of the event, whether that’s alcoholic or not.
