8 bridesmaids; 8 groomsmen. I didn’t want to choose between friends and family. I have two sisters, one grown niece/god daughter and his sister which makes 4. I also have 4 amazing friends. Friends just know a different side of you and I felt like I didn’t want to eliminate them from the day. I wanted them to be part of it. Also, one benefit (for them) of having so many maids is that there’s more of them to spread the cost of the shower and bachelorette!

I have 5 including my Maid/Matron of Honor (my twin sister!), 1 is my childhood best friend, 1 is my best friend from university, 2 are my very good friends from university. + 2 junior bridesmaids (cousins)

I didn’t want to have a very big bridal party but I love all these girls so much, it is what it is! 🙂

I have 1 maid of honour and 3 bridesmaids and so far there has been no drama only <3

Only 1 of my bridesmaids is local (the rest are out of province and in the US) but we’ve been chatting via imessage and pinning to our pinterest wedding page so it’s been really easy to plan with everyone! I know they all won’t be able to make it to the showers and bachelorette but I’m alright with that, as long as they’re all there on our day : )

    3!

    Pros:

The perfect amount for the four of us to carpool to the bachelorette and share a large suite at the hotel.

Enough to “fill out” the wedding party, but not so many that you’re trying to wrangle a bunch of different people for dress shopping trips, showing up to the right places on time for appointments and rehearsals, and keeping them from fighting or creating drama.

I originally had 4, and it proved to be too many. They fought, and one girl decided to step back from being a Bridesmaid or Best Man.

Any more, and the $$$ for gifts and bouquets and time for hair and MU really starts to add up. We had a long aisle, so any more would have also made the ceremony too long.

    Cons:

If you like symmetrical photos, an odd number is not the way to go.

(I can’t think of any more cons. I think 3 was the perfect number for us!)

I am having 6 girls walking. One maid of honor, one matron of honor, a bridesmaid, two jr. bridesmaids and a flower girl. So far I have my ring bearer and my FH has his best man. We still don’t know who the other guys are we are going to choose or if there will be any at all. Its crazy with the girls because they all like different things and at times it makes me crazy.

I have 1 maid of honor (my sister) 7 bridesmaids and 1 flower girl.  I know a lot of girls in one wedding party.  4 are our family and the other 4 are my friends.  My Fiance is actually using a few of my cousins to make his side.  Lord it’s a lot of people and I am super pumped to have each and every one of them a part of the day.

I always just wanted like 2 – but then it turned out to be 5 and a junior bridesmaid – my sister, my sister in law, my future sister in law, 2 good friends, and my niece.

Small wedding here as well. At first I didnt want any maids or groomsmen, my Fiance discouraged that idea cause he said i need help. So I have one maid of honor who is my good friend, and one bridesmaid, who is Fi’s sister in law. He has his 2 brothers as groomsmen (he didnt want to pick a best man) , and my 12 year old will be a 3rd groomsman as well to stand up there with them. We have 1 flower girl and no ring bearer.

@vintagebride143:  blah I had 6 to include 1 best friend (still), 1 best friend that resented me for getting married in the same year as her (we haven’t spoken since my wedding), that best friend’s Maid/Matron of Honor who I used to consider a close friend BEFORE I got engaged (she has since deleted me on FB) all because I always said I would have them in my bridal party.

As for family, I had my younger sister that I don’t get along with very well who was 19 at the time and could care less, my sister-in-law who is only 2 years older than me, super high maintenance, and loves drama/hates the friend Bridesmaid or Best Man getting married and my 13yo niece who could also care less about the wedding but who I felt like I should include because her younger siblings were flower girl & ring bearer…

I basically wish I had none of them but my Maid/Matron of Honor.

Learn from my mistakes, listen to your gut feelings and keep it small.
