We decided on zero bridesmaids and zero goomsmen. Everyone is happy, gets to contribute what they want without pressure, and enjoy the day drama-free ๐Ÿ™‚

Fiance knew that he wanted his three best friends as his GMs, so I needed to pick 3 bridesmaids. I don’t really have that many close friends (everyone seems to disappear when you have a baby, whadaya know!), so it wasn’t too difficult. My sister passed away and SIL is cray-cray. Fiance really didn’t want to ask his brother (they’re not on great terms), but felt that it would be a slap in the face if he were to ask my brother or one of his cousins. So there’s no family in our wedding party.

Maid/Matron of Honor has been my best friend since we were 10 years old – no brainer.
BM#1 has been my friend since high school; I’m really close with her and her family. She’s level-headed, organized, and a DIY queen. She’s been a huge help so far.
BM#2 has been my friend since our first year of undergrad. She’s the ultimate girly princess and she’s obsessed with all things wedding-related, so I knew that she’d be a really fun person to plan with.

I chose my sister as my Maid/Matron of Honor and my 2 bffs and Future Sister-In-Law as bridesmaids. FH chose his brother as best man and his best friend, his cousin, and my cousin (who I basically my brother) as groomsmen ๐Ÿ™‚

edited to say that we also have FH’s 2 nieces (10 and 5) as a Jr Bridesmaid or Best Man and flower girl, as well as his nephew (15 mos) as our ring bearer. I thought it was really cute that they are all siblings ๐Ÿ™‚

2 for me!

Best Friend : MOHFSIL : Maid/Matron of Honor

I decided to just have 2 MOH’s and not ask any of my other friends because if I did, I would have to ask all 3 of my closest friends as to not leave any of them out, and I didn’t want 5 bms.

I had 3 bridesmaids, my 2 sisters and best friend. To save any drama between my sisters I asked my best friend to be my Maid/Matron of Honor. We are all super close- even my sisters and bestie, so there were no hurt feelings! And my bestie gave the BEST speech (to the tune of a backstreet boys song! TOTAL surprise! BAHAHA) so I chose right!

My sister is Maid/Matron of Honor (maid) my bestest best friend as Maid/Matron of Honor (matron) my other two best friends are BMs as well as my two second cousins and a set of friends (twins, why I call them a set). Fiance is still choosing his.

I’m having 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man, no Maid/Matron of Honor.

I immediately thought of my 2 friends when I thought about who to choose. We are all friends so it’s easy for me to just have the 2 of them. I didn’t want to choose one of them to be Maid/Matron of Honor, but I do want them both to speak at the reception. They can do it together and it will be cute and probably hilarious.

My Fiance is only going to have his brother and I guess he will call him the Best Man. We don’t care if our parties are uneven. I did want my Fiance to ask his best guy friend but my Fiance is worried if he does that, he will offend another close guy friend. Whatevs!

angelaw2g:  Wow, that is so funny! I have four sisters and my fiance has one, and they are all my bridesmaids! I wish I found it as easy as you did to pick a Maid/Matron of Honor though…..

angelaw2g: This is too cool! I’ve never had a beetwin!

Well, you obviously made the perfect choice of MOH! I hope you have fun planning together.

I agree that it only feels right to include Future Sister-In-Law. She is becoming my sister, so if all the others are there it just makes sense.

angelaw2g:  I kind of had the same situation as you, but reversed!  I have one sister, who was automatically my Maid/Matron of Honor, and my now DH has 4 sisters – instant bridal party.
