Want to hear something ridiculous? My ex boss’ daughter had 46! 22 each Bridesmaid or Best Man & Groomsmen……the photographer had to use a special lens to fit them all in and even then it looked completely distorted. What’s worse it was in NYC and I only heard rumors of the cost.

It was really more of a spectacle than a wedding, and I think done more to impress than anything else. Of course none of his employees were invited! lol

46 is INSANE! Throw in a few more and you have the size of my entire wedding guest list!

@akjiron- 9 isn’t that large. This girl just asked random people b/c she thought she needed that many and that is what bothers me, but to each her own I guess! She was also a HORRIBLE bridezilla. I mean she cried because it rained even though the ceremony and reception were inside, she cried at the reception over something (not happy tears, sad/mad tears) and the rehearsal was horrible. She freaked out because groomsmans hands were right over left, then changed her mind to left over right, then changed her mind again…she continued to do this while deciding which way the wedding party should walk down, the way people should smile, hold their chins up etc. Rehersal was over 2 hours, when it should have only taken 40 min.

I wanted to keep it small too. I only wanted 4 – my 3 best friends & his sister. But then I got the whole guilt thing from my mom about how no one from the family is in it, so I added my 3 nieces (who are all college age). There’s also another girl who I’m friends with but she’s been friends with Fiance since kindergarten – we swapped his chick friend for my dude friend. Now we have 8 on each side. I agree it’s way too much but it is what it is.

So after the 46 wedding party number I just had to google largest wedding party and came up with the picture below. It has 11 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 1 ring guy, 18 groomsmen plus the bride and groom. While it is a wonderful photo and everyone looks happy, I just cannot imagine having a wedding party of 34 including me and FI! Also it was so big I had to resize it!

I wanted 1 but Fiance has 2 brothers so we ended up with 3 each, all siblings and 2 super close friends.  I think it’s odd when people have issues with people in their wedding party- like whether or not they shoulg be in the wedding, disinviting them, etc.  I just feel that if you are asking them to stand with you on one of the most important days of your life they should be people who’ve already stood by you in other ways and their support shouldn’t be a question.  Plus I don’t want to look back at my wedding pictures and wonder what ever happened to bridesmaid x, I chose people that I expect will always be in my life even if we are separated by distance.  Just my personal view on the whole thing!

Originally I had 4 – 2 best friends, my FIs sister and his cousin but then his mom was upset that I wasnt having his 2 older sisters so I added them as well so now I have 6. Im comfortable with 6. I would have been more comfortable with 4 but everyone is included now so its better….just a bit more expensive!

FI’s highschool friend got married in August of this year & they had 13 on each side, 2 flower girls and a ring bearer!! I can’t even imagine getting that all organized. They had a civil ceremony at the venue and it took longer for the bridal party to walk down the aisle then it took for the judge to marry them!! HAHA!

She did admit to me after that she regretted it. I’d post a picture but I’m friends with her & she’d kill me. LOL

@Dancy – Yeesh.  I thought bridal parties in the double-digits were a strictly Southern sort of thing.

We’re just asking all guests to be in the wedding party. That way no one feels left out.

JUST KIDDING!! 🙂 But we joke about large wedding parties all the time and it’s like “Really? EVERYONE was important enough to stand?” Of course, that’s judgy and I know in my oldest sisters case she really did have 11 close friends and ended up leaving a bunch out so it wouldn’t get too crazy.

But to answer the question, I currently have 5 and am trying to ask 1 more but she won’t call me back, and Fiance has 7 and is probably going to ask 1 more too.
