I think 5 or more is too many, went to a weddincg once where there were 6 on each side and it was crazy drama!  And over that the pictures start to look ridiculous…

I was in a wedding where there were 13 of us bridesmaids and 13 groomsmen!  It was a Halloween wedding and it was fun.

I’m having 6 on each side including a junior bridesmaid and junior groomsman (our kids).

I have 10 BMs, 3 flower girls & 1 ring bearer (10 Groomsmen as well) we are having a huge wedding, and I couldn’t imagine having any less in the Wedding party than we do!! I would have never been able to keep it (wedding or wedding party) small with my family!

It up to you how many you choose, but I agree with some other previous posters about it looking crowded. An alternative you can have is to include all of them in the procession and all, but when they get to the front, have seats in the front row reserved for most of them. And just keep the best man and maid of honor standing up with you during the ceremony.

I only want to bridesmaids! I do think it looks like a pageant when you have too many!

I don’t think six is too many! I am having three bridesmaids, one maid of honor, and one matron of honor. It’s all about who you want up there with you. There really are no rules. Whatever makes you comfortable. 🙂

I have 8 bridesmaids in all including my 2 Maid/Matron of Honor, but that’s because I have a very close group of friends and 2 are my sisters. It feels like a lot sometimes, but I couldn’t not have that many. Oh well…

I think up to 5 or 6 is fine.  More than that and it’s starting to look like you asked every girl and her cousin to be in your party.  I’m looking to have only 3-4.

I think whoever is closest to you should be in your party.  You can have as few or as many as you like

@Mrs081223:  Nope, I think 6 is a great number of BMs! I actually have 9! 1 sister, 1 sister-in-law, 1 cousin who is basically my little sister, and 6 of my dearest, truest friends. A lot of people have commented to me that this is too many, but I refuse to exclude any of my bests just so our bridal party looks smaller. We plan on writing a little blurb about each member of our bridal party in our program so our guests will understand how much we love each of our attendants 🙂
