It looks as it should for it’s carat weight and on your finger size.

glitterysala :  Just to clarify regarding the HCA… anything below 2.0 deserves a look… 1.9 can be just as nice as 1.3, etc.  Also, HCA is an ELIMINATION TOOL ONLY, but it’s not perfect, as some stones’ angles can give an HCA > 2, yet the stone be in AGS Ideal (the best of the best) range.

I voted for a 1.5 and I’m also a size 5.5 so I think I have a good frame of reference. Most of my engaged or married girlfriends have similar rings and it just so happens almost all of them have a 1 carat and I can definitely tell yours is bigger!

    valentinabarcelona :  1.5?

There are so many factors that influence how big a ring looks on you…diameter, ring size, finger length, your overall finger shape. And because there are so many factors involved, most people don’t really have a frame of reference for guessing how many carats a stone looks like. Just keep that in mind!

What’s important is that you’re happy with it. I was also surprised at how much smaller than expected carat weights looked on my finger, but it is what it is. You can’t change your finger and hand shape.

Yay, guessed right!! Mine is 1.5 and my finger is 5.5, so I kind of had some reference.  I think it’s a beautiful ring and fits your hand very well!

I voted 1.25 because I have a 1.3, ring size 4.5, and it looks very close! Your diamond is beautiful! Same weighted diamonds does not mean that it will look the same–even if you have the same shape! Your round could be deeper than others, which makes the table of it look smaller. My cut is considered “spready” which has a bigger table for its size, but that means it’s not as deep either. Not sure if you’re a fan of the halos, but that could also make it look HUGE. Congrats on your lovely ring!

Definitely looks 1.5 to me! You also have to take into consideration the dimensions of the diamond. I have seen plenty of 1 carat diamonds (excellent cut would yeild dimensions of about 6.5 mm X 6.5 mm) that face up 6.2 mm X 6.2 mm or even smaller. Some diamonds are cut deeper and appear smaller than others of the same carat weight. 1.5 carats is simply the weight, not the dimensions. I think it’s a great size!

I voted 1.5 before reading your update. I don’t think think it looks smaller.

I voted 1.5 straight away. My finger is a five but I’ve tried on many lol. They always look smaller than you expect from the top I think. Stunning btw xo
