Rings tend to photograph differently than they appear in person…
Partly because we all have different sizes of hands & fingers, and partly just because ring photography unless done professionally rarely does a ring justice
Have you seen this ring in person ?
One of the reasons I ask, is I followed the link you provided for the Bigger Pic, and then went to the Raw Feed, and then to the bigger pic there… and altho it looks like it could be also the way the ring / stone photographed, it also appears that it could be not one solid stone, BUT a Cluster…
So it might not be a 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 single stone at all.
If you know her you could certainly ask her about her ring … I think that “most people” would see that as a compliment (“Love your Ring… could you tell me more about it”) as long as you aren’t so Bold / RUDE to ask about cost.
BUT I wholeheartedly agree with the other Bees… you need to go try rings on. Everyone’s hands are different, and just like one dress in a photo doesn’t suit every.single.body on the planet… neither will one ring.
Even what you think you like now, might not be what you like after you try some on.
Don’t be the girl who finds herself disappointed later… with a ring that doesn’t “suit” her do some serious research by going to try things on.
Hope this helps,

+1. i was going to say her finger is a 6 and that ring is probably a carat or just under.

I think it’s 1.25 in pics like this the ring usually looks smaller, but I would just go to a jeweler and try on some ring to see what looks good on your finger! Your hand is totally different than hers, a ring will look so different on you than her.

I can’t believe how many people think that’s a carat! Unless she has itty bitty fingers (like size 3), that’s at least 1.5, if not 2.
The best thing you can do is try rings on yourself. You can look at a million pictures, and it’s still not the same as trying them on.

Yes it was! Best share ever! 😀

I’d be surprised if her fingers were a 7-8 I’m a loose 6 and her fingers look smaller than mine. I say 1- 1.25 carats. Buuut it all depends if her finger is a size 4.5 then it could be 3/4 ct if it’s a size 8 it could be 2 cts it’s really hard to tell but my official guess is 1-1.25 cts.
If someone asked me the size of mine b/c they were being nosy I’d be annoyed but if they were looking to buy a ring and asked me because they liked mine so much I’d be flattered and happy to help, just be honest about why your asking.
Also, I think it’s fine to put the pic up but I strongly reccomend blurring out her face.

What looks “huge” to someone is relative. Some people think 0.5 carat is HUGE some think it’s not huge unless it’s over 3 carats…
I wouldn’t ask. I would just go to a jewelry store and try on what you think looks good on your fingers. Her fingers look a lot like mine (size 7) and that ring is possibly over 1 carat.

Like other PPs said, its really dependent on ring size. The easier thing for you to do would be to go to a jewelry store and just try some rings on.

I’d say 1.5 to 2, just looking at her finger coverage and the stones size in comparison to her finger nail lol.

I also think about 1.5-2 carats.
Also… if I were the girl in the picture, I would at least want my face blurred out or something!! She probably has no idea her picture is up on a public forum!

@chloechloe: To me she seems like she is somewhat short (in stature) and her hands actually look small (hand span) and her fingers look like they aren’t really too skinny (this can be awkard talking about how skinny I think another womans fingers are)…
I think because of her small hand span (shorter fingers) the ring could be 1ct (maybe 1.5ct max).
Edit: Also I find some rings look larger or smaller depending on how they sit in the setting. Also it depends on the cut of the diamond…she could very well have gotten a shallow cut diamond with a large face because she likes the way it looks from the top.

I think it 2 and I have to agree with one of the other bees…if one of my Facebook “friends” reposted my picture on another public forum I would be a little taken back. if u think she would be flattered then ask her. I really would not like it if someone was reposting my pics.
