So here is our plan we will use disposable newborn diapers for the first few weeks (depending on wether or not LO fits into the GDiapers right away) after baby fits into the gDiapers we have already purchased we will use those until he/she grows out of them. Probably around 2-3 months. Then I want to switch to all in twos. Basically an all in one with an insert which I’m sure all you CD moms know what I mean. I want to use a mix of Kawii, Sunbaby, and Fuzzibunz. We will be using one size at this point. How many Diapers am I going to need? I know I will need approx 30 inserts but I’m really clueless as to how many diapers I will need. Any insight would be amazing. Thanks

The recommendation is between 24-30 dipes, I believe. My good friend CDs and she has 26, which she is selling me this week. We’ll have 32 pockets.

I would say you could do it with 20, but I am much more comfortable having 30ish in the regular rotation at our house.

Maybe some of the BTDT CDing moms can correct me here, but the research I’ve been doing suggests that when using AI2s you can get away with less covers than inserts. One website suggested 1 cover for every 3-4 inserts, basically as many covers as soiled diapers in a day times the number of days between washings (does that make sense?).
I’m also looking at AI2s when the time comes, so I’m curious as to others’ experiences.
