Hmm…I think I read somewhere that you should have 3-4 napkins per guest but I could be TOTALLY wrong so please dont hold me to that! I would say google it…

We had a cocktail hour and a beer and wine bar throughout the evening for 100 guests. I gocco’ed 400 cocktail napkins, and we had about 150 left over. Based on my experience, I also think 3-4 napkins per guest is a good estimate. We didn’t have a heavy drinking crowd though, so that’s something to consider. Also, our guests mostly drank wine, which I don’t think people typically use a cocktail napkin for, so if your guests are going to drink a lot of mixed drinks, maybe increase the estimate a little. If you’re tight on budget, you could always get a couple hundred of the custom napkins for use during the cocktail hour and then switch to plain napkins later in the evening if you run out.

I think for the swizzle sticks, you can go lighter than the cocktail napkins, since you don’t really need a stick for each person’s drink.  As long as they get one for the first drink, that’s fine (at least, that’s what I’m doing!) Plus, if people have wine or beer, they won’t use a stirring stick, so that cuts down on the numbers too…I’m guessing we’ll have about 175 guests at our wedding and I made about 160 swizzle sticks…
