ETA: Sorry, you’re iTunes account can be synced with up to 5 computers, I think you can add files from any computer without syncing your account.

How do you add files from other computers without it syncing and basically erasing your data?

@ShiftedLobster:  +1

Darling Husband is a computer genius, and I’d ask him if he wasn’t already asleep, but I’m pretty sure he told me years ago that you can only have 1 computer/Apple ID with an iPod at a time.

Edited to add:  I just found this.

The hubby must’ve been talking about something else at the time, or maybe it was different back then.

@ShiftedLobster:  When you plug it in to your computer for the first time, iTunes will ask you if you want to synch automatically. Make sure you select “no” if you want to use the iPod with multiple computers

@msfahrenheit:  Ok, so once I hit “no” then how do I get songs from the new computer onto my ipod? I’ve never been able to complete this task before  and have lost my whole ipod data several times by even attempting it.
