I think baking your own cupcakes sounds reasonable because its not a ton of work and it can be done a day or two before the wedding.

I would maybe do slightly more vanilla? Some people have very plain tastes and few people dislike a vanilla cupcake but may not like lemon as much so I’d say maybe 90 vanilla or 95 and the rest lemon?

I ordered 100 cupcakes for 76 people and we had quite a few left over.. somepeople had more than one and some people didn’t one one at all… i’d say if you have 125 guests i would order maybe 140 cupcakes? you’ll probably have left over…

Every wedding I’ve been to with cupcakes served ends up running out.  That said – I have no idea how many were ordered per guest.  But, if you have 2 flavors, I’d say a majority of guests will try each flavor – so, if I were in your shoes – with 125 guests – I’d do at least 100 of each flavor for a minimum of 200 cupcakes… and, I bet they’d be all gone, by the end of the night!

We ordered 13 dozen (156) for an expected 160 guests. We did 4 flavors, 3 dozen of 3 flavors and then 4 dozen of our favorite. He got 6 dozen and I got 7 dozen (side note, the word dozen no longer looks real to me!). We had somewhere around 145 people show up but still only ended up with about 5 cupcakes left over at the end of the night. I think since we had so many flavors, people wanted to try them all!

We have 300 mini cupcakes for 200 people, but we are also serving pie for dessert.

We ordered 18 dozen (exspected 125-150 people) ended up with around 90-100 and had all of 36 cupcakes left over.

Our Baker told us to budget 1.5 cucakes per person.  When you have more than 1 type of cupcake, your guest will be tempted to try both.  Some will share… some (like me!) will not lol

@MerryWidow – Go ahead and order the extras – I can always stop by and pick up some of the extra’s for you to ease the strain on your freezer!  BTW – Lemon Delight is available all of April!

@misspeanut:  “(side note, the word dozen no longer looks real to me!)” LOL that happens to me whenever I look at a word for too long!

@MerryWidow:  I’ve been wondering the same thing for 150 people, so even though I’m no help, thank you for asking this question!
