I’m currently waiting for the “full flow” to appear so I can start a new cycle and wondering what other women experience. I started first signs of spotting on Sunday and am now getting impatient. So, when AF shows up is she ready to go or do you get days of pre-spotting?

..Are you on birthcontrol or just getting off it?
Spotting for days ahead of your period can signify low progesterone which I think can lead to TTC problems.
I may get one day of spotting, but typically it comes on pretty heavy.

I could probably set a watch to mine, but I’m on BC.

I’ve been off birth control since December of last year… :S
My periods are always really light but I usually have a day or two before I really need a tampon (tmi, sorry).

Usually a day or less. Once I started spotting I just put in my cup so it’s hard to say. But back when I used tampons it would probably be the next day when it got heavier.
I was on BCP during this though.

I have a problem with this, I suspect low progesterone and did have a MC this year. I spot for about a WEEK before full on AF arrives. And the day she finally does arrive is heavy and painful for about a day and a half, then it tapers off to light for a day. It is so frustrating.

Is there testing for low progesterone? I have a doctor’s appointment next month and may bring this up.

My body is still adjusting to coming off the pill, and last cycle I had 1 day of spotting before what I counted as full on AF. For the few previous cycles, I had 2 days. So I’m hoping as my body continues to adjust, I’ll go down to very little or no spotting (I never experienced spotting before I went on the pill years ago).

That first poll option made me laugh SO hard–and CRINGE at the memory of getting my last peiod. While running at the gym. (EVERYONE was traumatized)
I occasionally get a 2-hour warning. But it generally starts in the middle of the night, SUPER heavy. And it’s irregular. It’s like being 13 and getting your first period EVERY MONTH.

@MrsBananas: I get spotting for maybe an hour or two, and then it’s like a crazy waterfall for 1.5 days, then spotting for about another 1.5 days, and then I’m done.

@MrsBananas: You can have bloodwork done to test it, I haven’t asked for it yet. Apparently my brain stopped functioning at my yearly appointment because I completely forgot to bring it up.

@BrandNewBride: I’m traumatized just reading that! lol, jk!
@jny1179: Sounds like me! I go into the appointment with a mental list and the second my doctor comes in and asks me how I’m doing it goes out the window…duh.

@MrsBananas: Actually, right before I had a crazy long period, thanks to low progesterone, I had some cycles in which I spotted for 2 days or so. The last two cycles, I had almost no spotting or less than a day before AF came with full force. I am also taking better care of my body. I will say anytime there is spotting, it’s a sign from your body that something is wrong. Progesterone is super important not only to ovulate properly but also keep the baby.

usually the day before I feel really lethargic and out of it, with pink CM when wiping. then all hell breaks loose for the next 5 days. literally.
