We stayed on Maui for a week and didn’t get to do everything we wanted. Besides going out and doing things, there is nothing better than sitting near the beach with your new husband and a fruity drink, so plan time to relax too!

I went to Maui for my Honeymoon and loved it! We stayed 10 days though. We rented a jeep for 7 days and drove all around the island! We took a sunset cruise from Lahaina, went to the top of Haleakala Volcano, Drove to Hana, went golfing, and had ample time for pool/beach days! I’d definitley recommend a week. We stayed in Kihei 🙂

We’ve been to Hawaii three times and Maui is our favorite by far. I’d honestly try to stay at least 7 days. The Road to Hana took up almost an entire day but we drove clear around the island (which I’m not sure if common). I think you’ll be dissapointed if you don’t give yourself at least a week.

When we go to any of the islands of Hawaii we stay at least 8 days. Gives you time to really unwind and relax.

It’s a long way to go and a long flight- I would stay at least a week. We have done Maui and stayed for 10 days- it still wasn’t enough.

    I’d stay forever.

But if it’s a vacation, I’d suggest staying as long as you can. Maui is beautiful and relaxing. I recommend a Jeep over a sedan as the Road to Hana is rather rocky and bumpy (and unpaved in some areas). We had dinner at Leilani’s (twice!) and it was superb. The Hula Grill is also very yummy and right next door to Leilani’s (both in Whaler’s Village).

Commenting to follow! We’re getting married on Oahu and probably honeymooning on Kauai, Maui and the big island so trying to figure out how many days. Thinking 3 or 4 on each island!

We’re from Oahu and we honeymooned on Maui for 5 nights. It was so fun and we got to see most of what we wanted to, but I think 6-7 would be better. Especially because we didn’t even need that much time just relaxing on the beach because we’ve had a lot of that, and we actually spent several weeks before the wedding at home, having some beach time.

I would suggest you start planning the things you might want to do, how far apart they are, how much time you’ll need and go from there with how much time you’ll need all around.

I’d stay 7-10 days if you can.  Lahaina is the tourest center, very busy and loud.  Kihei is farther away from some of the things to do, but it’s quieter and has some of the most beautiful beaches.  It’s close to Wailea, another big tourest spot.

Maui is so gorgeous, wherever you go.  We go during whale season because I love whales, so we generally do one or two different whale watches, kayaking, and hiking.  When we go next year we are going to do a cruise over to Mokokini to snorkel.  We might also do Hana, or part of it.  I really want to see a black sand beach.

Definitely do a susnet cruise or a wildlife cruise.  There is so much to see!  Find a sea turtle area.  Haleakala is pretty, but I’d try going at sunrise.  We went in the middle of the day and it was nice, but not spectacular.
