I only went to one store.  I browsed online for a couple of weeks to get an idea of what I liked.  I picked this store because they had a specific dress I wanted to try on and that’s the one I ended up with.  I tried on a total of 5 dresses and it did come down to 2 dresses, but my original dress won out.  I’m pretty decisive though and I also just do not have the patience to go dress shopping multiple times.

Good luck finding your dress!

Two. Originally I had 3 booked but didn’t make it to the last one cause I found a dress I liked and quit. Wish I wouldn’t have gone to the first one (Davids Bridal) and would have went to the third boutiue instead.

I went to one store! I thought I’d end up at more, but after trying on 5 dresses I knew I had the one and it was time to stop.

i went to 1 store. I knew the exact dress i wanted so it was easy for me to track it down and go there. I suggest doing a lot of research online of the different styles and designers so you don’t waste time trying things you don’t even like in the first place.

I went to four in total.

I started with three that happened to be close to me, but while I found some very nice dresses none of them were anything more to me than a pretty dress. There was one which was my favourite, but it didn’t have enough structure. So I looked up the designer’s collection and as soon as I saw my dress online I knew it was the one I wanted. I tracked down a shop that had it (turned out to be more difficult than I thought) and I loved it on me as much as I loved it on the model.

I had appointments at five, but only ended up going to four because when we walked into the fifth it was a bit of a mess. I really could have gotten away with just going to three, but my mom was desperate to go to Beverly Hills so I humored her and took the appointment. I ended up getting the first dress I ever tried on; the other stores were “just to make sure” that I didn’t find anything I liked better.

Also browsed online, created a pintrest board, and made two appointments at two different shops on the same day. Went with my sisters. Ended up picking the 3rd dress I tried on. Ever. It felt too easy!

2. I originally booked at 3 places and the second place I found my dress at was totally random. I ended up making an appointment last minute on a weekday afternoon because my fiance had to make a work trip to the area where our parents live. We were just going to get an idea of less traditional dresses since the first place we went carried only VERY traditional satin ball gowns. after that i cancelled my other appointments. I definitely agree that the more places you go the harder it will be. I didn’t find dress shopping to be fun, it was while doing it but I had major anxiety about it so I was perfectly content with ending shopping.

I went to two stores. I went to Alfred Angelo and then a local boutique. I had originally only gone to browse and get an idea of what I wanted and what prices were like. I tried on two gowns at Alfred Angelo – neither of which I liked all that much. At the second store I told the owner what my wedding vision was and without any other prompting she picked THE dress.

I went to 4 shops and found my dress at the last one. There were a couple I thought could be the one at the other stores but something in the back of my mind kept nagging me to see what else there was. Once I found my dress, I knew I was done!

I am plus size as well and was terrified of dress shopping but all the stores I went to had plenty for me to try on and I had a wonderful experience 🙂

None. I saw my perfect inspirational wedding dress on google image search and am just going to sew it. I am not going to go to any wedding dress stores bec once I love something (my inspirational dress picture) then I know it’s the one. Also I don’t want any dress regrets so there will be no dress shopping for me, just fabric shopping.

I went to 4. Started at David’s Bridal and realized I wanted a Maggie Sottero/W too/Allure/Mori Lee type of gown so I went to the 3 boutiques in town that carry those because they all had different dresses. At one point I browsed online but found it extremely frustrating because I would find dresses I liked and no one in town would have them.

Justadream209:  call before you go and ask what sample sizes they have! One place I went only had 6’s and 8’s. I left there in tears because I literally couldn’t get anything on 😭
