I was just going back through my wedding USB where I keep everything I have ever saved related to dresses, decoration, etc. I have folders on there for every dress I’ve ever loved (before or after trying on). My tastes were all over the place!
1. Maggie Sottero Florencia (never got to try it on)
2. Maggie Sottero Destiny (hated it after trying it)
3. Alfred Sung 6876 (consultant’s pick which I really liked for a while, and turned me on to fit and flare silhouettes)
4. Enzoani Farlow (the #1 for quite a while)
5. Vera Wang White 351011 (it felt cheap to me in person – no offense to anyone who has the dress, it looks amazing in pictures, but it was not what I expected – especially after trying a Maggie version, Dynasty, worth $1000 more)
6. Paloma Blanca 4111 (another consultant pick after I wanted to go try on more fitted dresses to compare against the Farlow)
And finally… THE DRESS. It’s Mikaella 1610, I found it two days ago and I have been ridiculously obsessed with it since. It is definitely the dress – I plan to take my mom and family tomorrow 🙂

Aww I thought I resized these all so that the “no” dresses were smaller…

@Pinkmoon: OMG you look fabulous in all of those – especially the last one. 🙂
I kept a folder of “eh, maybe these would work” dresses and brought them with me to my 1st appointment. Tried about 4 “meh” dresses then spotted my current dress jammed between a couple others. Loved it even in the packaging and after trying it on twice I bought it. 🙂
Obligatory vanity shot/excuse to post my dress. 😉

I loved 6 dresses before I found the one. The first dress I fell in love with was Pronovias Higuera, and at the same appointment, I fell in love with anotehr dress, but I don’t remember the designer or the style. I think it was a Watters dress. Then, I fell in love with 4 dresses; one was Watters Austin, and the other three were all Marisa dresses, so I can’t provide pictures since she doesn’t advertise her dresses. I don’t remember the style numbers or names or whatever. I then found my dress which had all the elements I loved in the other dresses togetehr in one, Priscilla of Boston Hampton.

@mrsSonthebeach: Oh right… I forgot to include Watters Cabo! I couldn’t take pics though. Watters does make some awesome dresses.
I also just want to say that I love your profile pic! It looks like such a cool shot.

I had 3.
The first, a San Patrick, I never got try on. I called every single bridal shop from Maine to NY, and no one had it. So I got over it. 😛 However, my actual dress has a lot of similarities to it.
#2 was a Martina Liana. I LOVED it. But my mom wasn’t totally blown away, and I had plenty of time, so I decided to keep looking. (The top was stunning, but the skirt was quite plain and fell kind of flat on me).
Tried on another Martina Liana with a bit more “flair” and loved it, but couldn’t commit because I worried about shaking my hips and sitting in it.
And then found “the one” (Marisa) – I’m adding a one-shoulder to it though. It was a good combination of all the elements i was looking for, and it made my mom cry.

@mandypop: I tried on a similar Enzoani F-something that had flowers on the hip like that. I was definitely a fan!

I’ll play! I liked 4 before finally finding *the dress*. You can tell from the pics that I prefer the fit and flare style. I was open to satin/lace/organza etc. Here we go … (sorry for pics being so big).
1st was a Paloma Blanca dress:
2nd was a Mon Cheri dress:
3rd was a CB Couture dress:
4th was a Winnie Couture dress:
Finally *the dress* Allure 8815:

haha this thread is fun! I have been looking since I was a little girl. I found all of these dresses before I even got engaged. The first ones where when I was about 15 lol. So honestly I had my dream dress picked out before He even asked me to marry him. All the ones I acually tryed on when it was time to look I thought were pretty but never fell in love with. I never tryed any of these on. Except mine and I didnt even try that one on till I bought it and it came in. 🙂
The first one I found at about 15 years old
I found maggie sottero dresses and it was all over
And finally right before I got engaged I found this dress in a magazine and Fell compleatly in love with it! Its my dress 🙂

@Pinkmoon: Thanks. It was fun. We were in the median on A1A and cars were driving past honking and cheering for us. My photographer calls the shot “dangerously sexy.” We did a bunch with just us and then with the wedding party too.
Thread-jack over 🙂
