My dress was the 8th one I ever tried on I think. But I tried on about 15-20 after it just to make sure it was the one.

@RayRayFurious: I bought mine online, too! Easiest dress shopping experience ever! I don’t even have to get it altered.

I knew the second I saw my dress online that I had to have it. It was the only dress that brought a little tear to my eye and the only dress I could see myself wearing.
The only thing was that it was a vintage dress.
I was planning on getting the seamstress that made my Maid/Matron of Honor dress last year to make my wedding dress, so I was wasn’t too worried about not getting the dress I wanted.

I started looking at other styles, and never got the same feeling as I did when I saw the first dress.
I did go try on dresses. I knew there would be nothing I wanted, but thought it would be fun as well as give me an idea of what shapes looked good (or bad) on me.

I think I tried on 5 or 6 dresses and was soooo relieved that I was getting my dress made!
Sure the dresses were pretty, but just not me. Plus the options were limited as I’m a curvy girl and they only had about 20 “plus sized” dresses.

So my lovely seamstress is working on it as we speak! I showed her the original picture and we used it as a base and then customized it!

Can’t wait until September!!!

the dress I bought was the second dress I tried on at the first store I went to.my initial reaction was “hey this is nice! I like it!”

I went to 3 other shops and tried on about 10 other dresses before going back to the 1st store, tryingon 2 other dresses before trying on the one I ‘liked’ again to compare.

It was a winner!

I never tried my dress on before buying it, and I still knew it was the one because it’s haunted me for years…It is a Vera Wang that was from the 2006-2007 era and I always loved it.  I don’t even remember where I saw it or who had it on.  I just always know I wanted a wedding dress like it.  But then when we got engaged, I couldn’t find anything as amazing as that dress, and I happened to stumble onto it on preownedweddingdresses.com, and the rest is history.  I’m having to have a corset-back put in because it was a little too snug going over my chest and back.  But I think it will make it even more fabulous! How many dresses did you try on before you found her??? : wedding DressfittingHow many dresses did you try on before you found her??? : wedding 3

I went to four stores and must have tried on dozens of dresses. I found my dress at the second shop – I think it was one of the first I tried on there, and I did get that “fluttery” feeling and didn’t want to take it off – but since it was my first day shopping and it was slightly over my budget, I figured I should keep looking. I spent over two hours trying on dresses at another shop the next weekend, but couldn’t stop thinking about that other dress… after not finding much there, I went back to the other shop a few days later, tried the dress on again, and it confirmed that I absolutely loved it 🙂 So I ordered it!

For me it was #2, but only because they were trying to find it so I tried another one in the mean time.  I think I tried on 8 total but kept coming back to #2.  I gave in and ordered it, despite the feeling I was robbing my mom of the many trips to bridal salons to try on dresses.  Can’t wait to wear it!

I tried on about 10-15 dresses at technically 3 salons.  I went to Kleinfeld with my girlfriends in New York but didn’t find anything jaw dropping, which was really surprising.  I went with my mom to a shop and after 8 dresses or so didn’t like anything, so she took me down to their sister Vera Wang store and showed me a dress.  I didn’t look twice at it, tried on a few more, but it ended up being the one!  I didn’t want to take it off, my mom cried, I felt fabulous.  I bought it in October ’10 and my wedding is May ’11, but I have a picture of me in it on my phone and every time I look at it, I love it.

I tried on about 100 dresses in all when looking for my dress.

With that being said, I found my dress on the first day at the 4th store that somewhere between the 20th and 25th dress that I tried on.
