12 – 15?! Maybe when i was in college and had built up a decent tolerance. I voted 3-5 but it might actually be 5-8.

3-5 for me! I get drunk easily, especially on yummy, fruity drinks.

Uh, 12-15 depending on speed… It’s not something I’m particularly proud of (I wish I were a cheap date) but I can drink a ton.

ETA: That’s DEFINITELY not common. Even my Fiance (who is bigger than I am) doesn’t drink that much.

Well, I’ve never been drunk, in fact the most alcohol I have ever consumed at once was a shot of kahlua and Baileys (a “baby guniess”) in a pub in Ireland. But I sure felt it the next morning! So I won’t ever be trying that again. I’m a featherweight!

12-15 is alot! Maybe close to that when I was going out 3-4 times a week but not now! It depends for me; beer I can drink a 6 pack and be fine. Liquor, specifically my love for Gin, I can’t handle too much.

NO, having been a bartender on and off for years, um no.  I have seen it, but that is so abnormal.  That bill (including tip) would be around $75-100, so I call BS.

If I am out drinking I am 3-4 per night, and that is on a night where we are taking a cab.

When I order drinks (rum and diet cokes) at a bar/pub, I always save the straw from the previous drink and pop it into my new one.  It helps me keep track and it’s just something I like to do.  My friends and I joke when it’s a “4 straw kind of night” since I figure that 4 is the perfect number for me to feel drunk but not messy.

I don’t really drink, so 2 or 3 is enough to get me drunk! Cheap date, here.

When I was drinking on near nightly basis back in college, I could drink most of my guy friends under the table. 10-15, and I could still walk.

These days, probably 4-5, tops. But it totally depends on what I’m drinking. Beer doesn’t seem to hit me as hard as wine or liquor, probably because I drink it faster. Wine or gin and whatever I’m mixing with I usually top out at about 3 glasses, maybe 4, but definitely not more. But I can usually drink 5 or 6 beers and be mostly okay.

ETA: Also depends on how strong the drinks are…if I’m making it at home, I pour with a heavy hand, so I usually only have 2 cocktails. They usually aren’t made as strong if I’m out at a bar, so I drink more.

I am very tipsy off one drink, two drinks I’m getting honest.  Three I’m DRUNK.  The most I’ve had is like 6 drinks and I was GONE.  I’ve never blacked out, though.  12-15?  I would be in the hospital!!!

A lot. It takes about 12-15 shots to get me to the “hot-ass mess” stage where I’m basically ten seconds away from falling asleep on the floor. Mixed drinks…probably three to “buzzed,” and I’ve never been plastered from those because they take a long time for me to drink. I don’t drink all that often, mostly because I’m BORING when I drink. I go from “Fun-Fun Happy Girl Drunk” to “Christ, just let me go to bed already” really fast. I get the spins really bad when I drink, so I try to avoid getting drunk.

Depends on over the course of how long, and what it is being drank.

I don’t drink anymore at all, but in my youth I’ve only really been drunk once, and its the shots that kill me. I don’t like wine or beer so its all the quicker stuff 😉

@Eva Peron: Ahaha, ditto. I’m not a beer or wine drinker. Give me vodka plus pretty much anything and I’ll gulp it down. I used to be a big gin fan, but it upsets my stomach. Woe is me.

The period of time definitely matters. Most people metabolize about 1 drink/hr. I start feeling quite tipsy on my 3rd drink and by 5 i’d be flat out drunk i guess (kinda hard to remember bc i’m not prone to getting drunk and haven’t been in years). But that’s like within an hour. Add a drink for each extra hour from start to finish.
