I haven’t been drunk in years and have no intention of getting drunk again (too old for that crap!) so I really don’t have a basis to judge. I know now, when DH and I split a bottle of wine between us, I’m usually feeling as though I’ve hit my absolute limit by the end of it – in fact, DH usually has to finish my last glass for me. I can’t imagine drinking more than that, but I would guess a third glass of wine would be enough to make me drunk.
I’m currently off all alcohol because of the little bub I’m growing but I can imagine one glass of wine will be all it takes to get me to my limit once the baby arrives!

I lack one or more of the alcohol dehyrogenases (enzymes that detox the body from alcohol, which is technically a poison) so I react to alcohol like the poison it is. I can cook with it because it denatures at high temps but alas, I can not consume alcoholic beverages at all. It is a genetic thing.

12-15?? that’s a lot! I remember when I first got into college, when I was 18 and 19, I could take shots all night and be fine..
now, I’m only 22, but I feel like alcohol hits me a lot harder.. if I takea 3 shots I start feeling tipsy, 5 shots I’ll be drunk..
one night at the club I had 2 AMF’s (they’re really strong) and 1 beer and I was gone..
but yeah I don’t like drinking too much anymore… it hits me too hard

I said 5-8 but I think I’m a liar. It’s only that high because I don’t like the taste of most alcohol so most of the drinks I get have very little alcohol in them, haha.

I’ve never gotten black-out and puking kind of drunk, because it doesn’t take much for me to get happy drunk.
On an empty stomach, I’ve gotten drunk off of a Bud Light. lol.

It depends what my chosen poison would be on that occassion. A bottle of wine does the trick, which is about 4 big glasses

This is extremely regional, oddly enough. Fiance and I went to a wedding in Minnesota and he had 3 large bloody marys in a row, with a small meal. He wasn’t even slightly buzzed. We live in WI, and we went out to eat here one night, and he was completely drunk after drinking half his bloody mary with a large meal. Some places (such as drunk states like WI, haha) put waaay more alcohol in drinks than others.
But I do have friends that can take 20+ shots and a few drinks within a few hours. I’d be drunk after one, haha

For me at normal rate of just drinking yummy drinks, 3-4 and I’m buzzy happy, 6-7, drunk, 9+ passed out and/or puking.

I can drink a bottle of wine in a few hours and feel tipsy, but definitely not super drunk. I am definitely in the 5-8 range and can go for more then 8 and not be a wreck.

It all depends on what time I start drinking and what time I stop. The other night when I went out I had a cheese quesadilla, 2 margaritas, and 10 shots between 7p and 1a and I could walk and talk and I wasn’t vomiting. I certainly wasn’t the dd or anything, but I did go to the store for some pizza rolls afterward. I think another thing that helps is that I try to have a few glasses of water during the night.

@SleepingWithNuns: 2 drinks get me tipsy and freaky 3 drinks get me drunk and sleepy…..its a very thin line!

It usually depends on how much I’ve eaten that day and very much on how strong the drink is. Usually 2 will get me pretty buzzed, but around 4-5 will get me drunk.

Depends on what it is. I can’t get drunk on beer to save my life. Give me a couple appletinis and I’ll be practically drunk. 3-5 white russians and I’m nice and toasted.

Depends on how strong the drinks are.:)
I said 5-8. I’m a very happy drunk at that point, and don’t want any more.
