We have to confirm the number of plates with our cater and I was interested in how many additional plates you added in just in case.
For background, we have to purchase 200 plates as a minimum and our final RSVP attending total is 181. We have to include a couple more to feed the vendors so probably around 188 people eating. Should we leave it at the 200 plates or add a few more just to be safe?
How many extra did you figure?

We told them our exact ‘yes’ rsvps. The caterer automatically preps for extras just in case. I dont think you need to worry about it.

I wouldn’t add anymore than you absolutely need to. Typically 5-10% that reply “yes” will not show, so I would save your money. Stick to 200.

I got zero extra. We have 116 people present; that’s the number I gave the caterer.
I also got 9 vendor box lunches. I’m already paying these people for their time, so they’re getting a $7.95 meal and not a $36.95 one like my guests.
I wouldn’t do any more than 200.

@KristenGotMarried: Agree, give the exact number.
The lunch boxed meal is so smart!!! I honestly think it’s crazy we have to feed them even though they’re getting paid…

We will count an extra table of ten to be sure. We may not need it, but the last thing I want to do is have the caterer scramble bc of extra people showing.
