So I have the bouquet thing down but I don’t want to over spend on ordering the flowers. Any suggestions on how to calculate how many flowers I need. Here is the run down.
Using Gerber Daisy’s and Roses only. Mainly gerbers. (both fuchsia)
1 – bridal bouquet
5 – bridesmaids
8 – rose boutineeres
4 -12″ inch galvanized tin arrangements
16 – 18 small bouquets for the centerpieces
How many flowers should I order? Any floral pro’s out there?

I would suggest you order slightly more than you think you’ll use. Especially if you’re not ordering through a florist who will pick and choose the best flowers out of the bunches for you.
I’d order as follows:
1 – bridal bouquet- 12 roses and 6 gerbs (for a medium/large sized bouquet)
5 – bridesmaids- 30 roses and 25 gerbs (6 roses and 3/5 gerbs in each)
8 – rose boutineeres- 8 roses (You could save some money by doing spray roses (which are smaller and have more on a stem) for the bouts, they typically run $5-7/stem with 3-5 blooms/stem.)
4 -12″ inch galvanized tin arrangements- I’m not exactly sure what look you’re going for, but on the safe side, I’d probably do 32 roses, 12 gerbs (8 roses, 3 gerbs per arrangement)
16 – 18 small bouquets for the centerpieces- 54 roses, 54 gerbs (6 flowers per bouquet)
So, altogether, I’d order at least 136 roses and 97 gerbs (or round up to 150 roses and 110 gerbs- Some may break/fall apart while working with them, it’s better to have too many than too little!).
Also, you’ll probably want to get some bear grass and other foliage for the arrangements, bouquets, and bouts. I’d get 2 bunches of bear grass, 2 bunches of greens (whichever you’d like), and a little package of the wired fabric leaves (for the bouts).
I know you mentioned bouts, but are you doing any corsages as well? If you are, you’ll want to add a couple more stems of spray roses to the mix!

@superh2ogirl: If you’re still on the boards after the big day, I would love to hear how your experience went with DIY-ing your flowers. I’m going to DIY some of my own centerpieces and would love to hear any tips or issues, see pics, etc. Thanks and good luck!
