I keep hearing about how you shouldn’t bring a gift to the reception, you should have it mailed to the couple’s (or bride’s) home. I haven’t heard of anyone in Canada receiving a gift in the mail. I’m not talking about cheques or gift cards, but something larger than your mailbox.
I’m just curious, did any of you receive gifts by mail? How many? Who sent them? (Canadians?).

I spoke too soon! We got our first gift in the mail today, our food processor! I’m pretty sure the only reason why it was sent in the mail was because BB&B doesn’t do in store pickup, but it was a really nice surprise tonight!

We didn’t receive any gifts by mail. A number of our guests did choose to have them delivered to the store for pick up though which is awesome- but even that was something that most of our guests had never heard of.

We got a couple of mailed gifts from people within Canada who were unable to attend. Almost everyone else bought through our registry at the Bay and had everything sent to our home store for pickup (yay!). Only a few people picked their items up themselves and brought them to the wedding, and that was because they wanted to personalize them.
