We have just had venue confirmed and we are super excited. It’s a farm that my family grew up on. Lots of lovely bush walks that lead to open glades as well as your typical farm settings with a barn ect. We are saving a TONE on the venue and will be getting people in to do food but will have spit roast meats so all that will not be that pricey. sorry a bit off track! My question is how many people are you having and how much are you budgeting per person.

We had 85 guests and spent about $10,000 on the wedding (included dress, venue, food, alcohol, rentalas, lighting, flowers, photography, dj, etc).

We’re having 70-80 people and our budget is $20,000. A chunk of it is for the reception (11K), photography (2.8K) and videography (3K).

@TG123: Whatever you can comfortably afford and feel is appropriate for your wedding. You can do amazing things with any budget. You just have to decide what is important to you and be realistic depending on what you decide to spend. You may need to DIY things or be willing to spend more if you want to accomplish a certain look/feel.

@TG123: We’re having about 115 people. I’d so wanted the total cost to stay around $15,000 but I didn’t take into account the 93,294 miscellaneous expenses that would pop up. $146 in stamps for the invites, $150 for the officiant, $200 for bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts…I’m slipping closer to $20,000. My dress cost $350 to purchase and $275 to alter…my frugal mind is constantly exploding throughout this proces.

We are inviting over 100 but we are hoping around 60 will show up.. many are 2500+ miles.
Our budget is around 22,000 WITH honeymoon, rings, and parties.
