We’re inviting about 75 and hoping for about 50/60. I consider it quite small compared to other weddings and large for us because we’d both rather have it in the single digits ๐Ÿ˜Š

emmmmru:  Same…purposefully picked a venue that only seats 70, so right now our list sits at 73.  We both wanted to keep it as small as possible without offending anyone lol

We wanted to invite only 50 or so people so chose a venue that holds 50 people minimum. (We have more venues in our area that require a larger minimum).

Once we jotted down our must have people it came to 91 people. Larger than we want. 50% of these will have to travel interstate though so we are expecting about 70 which isn’t too far from 50.

We consider this smallish as his sister had 120 and my sister had 400.

reee:  Our wedding ceremony had about 45 guests (family only). Our reception had a little over 300 invited, but only around 220 replied as coming (including those that came to the ceremony).

DH has a large family, and lots of family friends; they were about 80% of our guest list.

We are inviting about 120 and hoping for 80-120. Our wedding is out of town, so we know that some people may not want to make the trip.

We had 90 guests, which I’d consider a small wedding. We had wanted smaller but had a hard time making cuts!

jkm13:  I believe the venue’s absolute capacity is 160, so we should be ok. 150 is if we wanted a head table, which we do, but are willing to sacrifice as needed.

We have ~20 on our guest list who would need to fly > 15 hrs just to come to our wedding, so I think we have some leeway.

We’re still just pre-planning (not officially engaged!), so nothing’s set in concrete, although we’ve narrowed down to either Oct 2016 or May 2017. If only eloping or Destination Wedding was actually a plausible alternative for us… my Future Mother-In-Law would probably hate me forever!! – but that’s a topic for another day ๐Ÿ˜›

We’re inviting 112 (the max for our venue) but I’m expecting 60-70 max to come. Lots of out of towners and March in New England isn’t a huge draw for travelers!

We’re having an intimate wedding with less than 50 people, including kids. We’re only inviting close family (our grandparents, parents and their siblings + families).

100, and I am 90% sure all will turn up (unless of emergancy) as they are all close family and friends. I would consider it medium, however due to the reactions of others when I tell them they seem to think its large :s

miijoo:  haha yes, sometimes eloping seems like a tempting idea, but in the end, the planning is so much fun and all worth it….not to mention, we save our relationships with the MIL’s as you said!!

reee:  Thank you!! So far, so good, and fingers crossed, it does all work out. Im expecting glitches just like any wedding, but as long as its nothing big that the guests dont notice, ill consider it a success. Im sure your wedding was beautiful as well!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted a small wedding of 30. But my family is so large it didn’t work out that way.

Our orginal guest list was 60 people. It’s somewhere near 75 right now. It’s a medium amount, but large for me. I’m hoping not everyone will come!
