I’m trying to decide between 8 hours, 10 hours, or all day coverage. I’m not sure how much I’ll need, and I don’t want to buy more than necessary.
My ceremony time rental for the site is from 3-5pm. With a reception from 5-9pm following at the same location. I want to factor in some time before the ceremony to get getting ready shots, and I’m guessing 2 hours might be enough for that. But I will be getting ready at a hotel, not the wedding site, because the room at the wedding site is not large or pretty enough. I have to include at least a 30 minute travel time between the two sites.
So my question is do you think two hours is enough to get hair and makeup done, take pictures, and travel to the ceremony site? I think I might have a second photographer there to take pictures of the guys and the detail shots at the reception room, but I’m not sure because I still have two more photographers to interview, and I don’t know if they work alone.
How many hours did you buy, and was it enough, or did you feel rushed?

unlimited, so yes it should be!

We had 6 hours, but we paid an additional fee to make it unlimited. We ended up using her for around 9 hours.

Package comes with 8, but I think we’ll expand to 10.
Hotel is walking distance from both ceremony site and reception site.
Ceremony at 3:30 and reception goes until 10pm.
I figure we’ll have the photogs show up at noon to capture Fiance and I getting ready at a leisurely pace.

we had unlimited since it was a friendor but I think we used about 7 hours or a little more. No more than 8 I don’t think.

our package was 8 hours and we added an extra 2 to make it 10. 10 was definitely enough for us.
i think it depends if you want alot of pictures of you and your Fiance getting ready. we had one hour at my house of me getting ready which was more than enough, but i’m not big on “prep” photos. how long into the night (during the party/dancing part) you want them to stay will also factor in. Also if you plan to do pictures before your ceremony, remember that that is added time into your day versus doing them during cocktail hour. our photos before the ceremony took 2 hours including the travel time to get there and then leave to head to the ceremony/reception site.

We had 8 hours, which was plenty for us. Our ceremony was at 6 pm and our reception ran till midnight. We did a couple hours of pre-ceremony photos, and it worked out perfectly.

We had 7 hours which worked fine.

We had 9 hours, which was perfect. She met us at about 2:30 for getting ready pics, we did our first look at 4pm, and then did family/bridal party pics, and we had her until about 11:30, so about an hour after the cake cutting, so she got lots of reception pics as well.
