we were 6 hrs by plane across the US, then 14 by plane across the pacific. It was always roughly 24 hrs in planes and airports, plus panic attacks because I hate flying – I am so glad the long distance is over!

3000 miles?  Three time zones?  LDRs suck so don’t do it if you can help it  😛  (Though I suppose most ppl don’t  it cause they WANT to!)

Ed and I live a 11-12 hours drive apart. Oh and one other thing…a border divides us. He is in New Brunswick, Canada and I am in New Jersey.

626 miles apart. I either drive up to see him or her takes a 16 hours bus ride to see me. Flights are astronomical to see one another since it is not a popular flight route and they have very few flights anyway. And the worst part the bus company in Canada wants to discontinue the bus that connects my fiance from his province in canada to Maine… so if they do that he wont be able to get here unless he can find someone willing to drive three hours to drop him off ( a total of 6 hours of driving for the nice person offering) or we have to hope flight prices go down… but for now the bus route is still running.

We have been doing the long distance for almost 4 years now. One of those years I went to university up in Canada so we were together that whole year. Now since we are both in university we divide up the trips on our vacations and summers off. My fiance also intends to go to medical school, and as it is much cheaper to attend medical school in Canada, after we get married when I graduate I am moving to Canada while he completes medical school. Then we will move down to NJ when he finishes his studies and everything. My parents are very supportive and pay for the gas for me to drive and see him and offer to help Ed with his bus ticket money etc. They are very happy for us and now that we have narrowed down are wedding date everything seems so real, a light at the end of the tunnel, so the distance between us, is seeming allot smaller .

Good luck and happiness to all my fellow LDR-ers.

xoxo,

Kat

5 hour plane ride and a 1 hour drive. The drive could be 20 minutes but I refuse to fly with layovers (flying anxiety) so I land at a big airport.

Glad to know that there are others in my boat.  We’re about a 2.5 hour plane ride apart (Atlanta-Boston).  We’ve been together for almost 3.5 years, LDR for almost 1.5 years of that.  Getting AWfULLY sick of it though.  We see each other every month or two but it isn’t getting any easier.  Hoping to be engaged and in the same place this summer.. we’ll see.

2 hours by train or car.  We’ve been dating for about 4.5 years and will be living apart for another 2 after we get married this summer. We see each other almost every weekend so it doesn’t feel so bad. But another 2 years seems like such a long time before we can really be together.

1.5 hour flight,  10.5 hour drive if you miss said flight (and he’s missed it before).  Can’t wait until that part of our life is over!

Fiance is in the Vancouver area, I am in central Ohio.  The flying time is about 6 hours, but with connections and layovers takes anywhere from 7-13 hours.  I have no idea how long driving would take…I think somewhere between 3 and 4 days.

Ugh…  so ready for this to be over.

Wow, from reading the other post I am almost ashamed to call our relationship long distance…., but when you long for someone soooo much and you cannot see them as much as you would like I would call it long distance.

We are an hour away from one another. If I visit my parents an hour and 45 minutes.

Still, those miles seem so far away!
