A videographer was originally not in my budget. However, I’ve decided that I would really like to have video now. I’d like to keep the cost as low as possible. So, how long do I really need my videographer for? If I book for 4 hours and capture the ceremony and most of the reception will that be enough? My ceremony starts at 5:30, and reception immediately follows at the same venue.

@Soon_To_Be_Mrs_T: We only did ours for one hour. Our ceremony will probably be like 20 minutes, so she will get some of people coming and then some of everyone congratulating us after we are married, but honestly I only want the ceremony captured. I know a lot of people want things like toasts, etc. but i’ll probably have my grandma capture that (we aren’t really having a bridal party, so it will probably just be my dad). It depends on what you think is important. I think four hours is PLENTY. If its in your budget, do it, if its not really but your stretching I would say you could even go for less.

4 hours sounds like enough as long as you make sure that your day of timeline fits the big events in within that timeframe (ie along with ceremony, any speeches, cake cutting, first dance, garter/bouquet toss etc., all the stuff you want captured on film).
