I ordered my wedding dress online and have to have it taken in. I was wondering how may inches should be between the very top of where the corset starts ( on the upper back)…I am trying to determine how much needs to be taken in in order for the corset to be the proper width once it’s tightened and tied. I figured 3-4 inches but I am not sure.

I’ve wondered the same thing! On my dress there are 2-3 inches.

I don’t think there really is a width that it is “supposed” to be. It’s more whatever you think looks best!
Part of the pros of corset dresses are that they often don’t need as much tailoring because the corset can be made looser or tighter to fit to slightly different body sizes without any alterations at all (ie if you lose or gain some weight, no alterations needed since it can be done with the corset).
