I want 2 and Darling Husband wants 4, but if we have the money I am very open to 4 kids. I only have one sibling and growing up we were able to go on vacations, play competitive sports, etc. Darling Husband is 1 of 5 and he never got on a plane until he was in his 20’s and if he wanted to do anything for himself he had to work full time, 40+ hours in high school to play for his sports. I wasn’t spoiled and worked and had to buy my own car but I did get a lot of things he didn’t.

I have three half siblings, but I was raised as an only child. I really count myself as an only when it comes to these types of questions. Fiance has one sibling. If we have any, I’d be fine with one. He would prefer two if we have them. Since twins aren’t uncommon in my family, I guess it’s a good thing one of us wants more than one.

I am 1 of 10, yes 10.  I am #2, so I have spent my entire life around babies/kids.  I know I want children and cannot wait to start.  I’ve never really known how many I want, but I do know that I DON’T want 10.  LOL    My fiance’ is 1 of 3, and he’s the baby.  He’s pretty stuck on 2 kids, but if they are both girls, he’s def open for 3+.

    I am 1 of 3 and want 4.

Darling Husband is 1 of 2 and wants 2.

We have tentatively compromised on 3. From my experience, it always seems like people want the same number, or one more than they grew up with. I’ve definitely never heard a person with 3 siblings say, “Eh, I think I’ll have one.”  🙂

Only Child here, I want as many kids as I can afford to have, which may only be one or two. My SO has a brother and sister.

I want one. Darling Husband wants two. One it is, lol. In all seriousness though, we’ll need to see how we fare after one and reevaluate. Who knows, I could really love the whole being a mother thing and want to expand our family even more but I’m not going to place any bets on that happening. I actually don’t really like children (some would even use the term “hate”) but I do want to have a child of my own someday. I’m sure I’ll love my own kid. 🙂

As for our families, I’m an only child and Darling Husband has an older brother.

If we have kids, it’ll probably just be one or two.  We each have one sibling (I have an older brother, he has a younger brother).

Both Fiance and I have one other sibling. I would be ok with 2 kids, he would like 4, he wants a bigger family… I’m ok with 4, but we better have twins at least one of those times, LOL.

(We do have lots of twins and triplets in my family so it might happen)

I want three kids, Fiance said he wants two.  I have three brothers and two sisters, and Fiance has two brothers.  And we are both the oldest in our families.

I have two siblings.  My Darling Husband has one brother close to our age and two half-siblings who are much younger.  I would like to have two kids, but I thin we’ll see how it goes after one.  I’m 31, and would like a little space in between, but I’ve kinda cut time short for that!  Darling Husband would love having twins (alas, it doesn’t run in my side of the family, so I think I’m safe!).

I am one of two and would ideally like three. (He’s one of three.) But due to medical issues, we might only be able to have one…

Good topic and lots of interesting responses!

I’m genuinely curious for those who came from big families and want 0-1 kids, what is the reason? 🙂

I chose 4  O.O  lol I know! my SO is up for it but thinks I might change my mind after the first lol

I’ve worked in childcare and also was a nanny for a few families and I honestly can say that I feel once you have 2 the 3rd and 4th are not so bad lol

I am also an only child somedays wished for more siblings but really I am happy I was my mom’s only baby *blush*  My SO has 3 half-siblings all spaces about 4-5 years apart (SO 36, brother 29, brother 25, sister 21).
