…until you break down and wish you had gotten one of these?
Fiance and I are heading Out of Town this week to check out some venues, and after spending a few hours looking at places and emailing them to set up a meeting, I decided to reward myself with some paper fun: invites 🙂
Then I found this little gem … anyone use this or something like this? I’ve heard of bees using a qtip dipped in water, but knowing me, I’d get water all over the invites LOL. Anyways, it looks pretty cool 🙂

DEFINITELY get one of those!!! My brother works in a factory that makes envelopes, and he said that he has seen people drop a puddle of glue on the floor, and then scoop it back up and put it back in the machine. Lord only KNOWS what’s in the glue on those envelopes. I don’t lick envelopes…haha!

that is nifty! i like it!
using a qtip with water seems more economical, but i’m a sucker for those kinds of products, im bookmarking that page for later!

I used this exact one; got it at Office Max. It was fantastic and well worth the $4 or something I paid for it. It not only gets the envelope wet, but has glue in it as well, so if your envelopes have crappy glue, it seals them perfectly. You hardly even need press it down hard to get it to stick.

I didn’t use one of those for the Save-The-Date Cards but I am thinking about getting one for the invites. I love the idea of the extra glue built in. What is with the crappy glue on envelopes? I made Fiance lick them all…ha!

I used to work in a bank, and we used a very similar product. It was pretty handy! No chance of those bad boys accidentally opening!

I agree, no one knows what is on that glue. I heard a horror story of a girl getting a papercut on her tongue once at the Post Office and apparently the envelope had cockroach eggs on it and when she got the cut they went in her tongue and later hatched.
Not sure how true it is but ewwwwwww!!!!

@SweetRose2011: No WAY!! That is enough to get me never ever to lick an envelope again, even i it isn’t true!

I have not sealed my invites yet, but I through really big parties for my daughter’s bday. And I have headaches and get lightheaded after licking all of those invitations!

@SweetRose2011: I’m reading this at lunch, and I was just like…dhfklashflska!!!! Haha!!! That’s so foul!!!

I used this amazing mini glue dot roller by Scotch. I simply cannot lick envelopes

@SweetRose2011: You do know that story is an urban legend and NOT TRUE, right???
Personally, a little tape goes a long ways… or a sticker. But… I’m also weird and LIKE the taste of the glue! LOL!

I saw our church ladies using something similar when I was younger to send out the newsletters, and I made a mental note even then! With 200 Save-the-Dates going out in a few weeks, you can bet your boots we’re either ordering seals or one of those waterbottle/sponge contraptions.
No way would I give my poor tongue a workout like that (especially after all of these icky glue stories!).
