I got engaged on 10/05/13 and got married on 12/14/13. So it was just a little over two months to plan our wedding.

Our engagement will be 19 months, but we didn’t actually start really planning things until a few weeks ago. So planning-wise, only 16 months or so. I wish it was sooner, but it is what it is.

@Seattlegrl:  I’m also from Seattle and my anniversary date is 8/4!

You have plenty of time to plan from now till August as long as you have been able to find the vendors you want and book them.

I had 15 months. It really made me procrastinate on a LOT of stuff. It made me thankful that my Fiance chose a winter wedding date since it’s “off-season” and therefore made it easier for us to find vendors.

I voted 12+ because we got engaged in 2011 knowing that we would not be married for at least two years. We wanted to save up as much as possible and we did not want to be rushed.

We started saving up immediately. Although we gave ourselves lots of time, we didn’t actually start seriously planning unil September 2013! (We went back and forth on a lot of things, changed our date and our venue a few times lol)

Thank goodness we actually made a decision & stuck with it!

We got engaged on Febraury 13, 2013 and our wedding is October 3, 2014 so about 20 months, which I think is way too long. Dragging out the planning has made things stressful and we are just ready to be married!! We set our date out way in advance to ensure FI’s sister could be there, she is deployed to South Korea.

I had 8 months, which I think is perfect, because I went strong in the beginning, then took a break for a couple months, and now the final strectch with all the details. I think a long engagement would drive me crazy

@Seattlegrl:  7 months in the perfect amount of time in my opinion!  We did it in 9 and in the middle there was about a 2 month lull that there wasn’t much we could do.  7 months will be great!  Have fun!

@Seattlegrl:  18 months here. I kept trying to move it up but he wanted a September wedding whereas I’d have been happy with April or May. So September it is!! The time has flown right by.

We were engaged 24/12/2011 but I didn’t start officially planning until September 2013 when we have all our ducks in a row with money. Sure I looked at venues, flowers, dresses etc to get an idea of what I wanted that way when I could pay for everything, it was just a quick process. Realistically I didn’t stat planning til 1 year before our wedding. We wanted to make sure we got our venue because some venues around here book up 1-3 years in advance.

ETA: I was also in school from September 2011 to April 2013 so we held off until I was done (hence the long engagement)

@Seattlegrl:  we planned our wedding in 7 1/2 months.  it was the perfect amount of time, though i would have liked a little less time.  the key is staying organized.

the first 2 months and the last 2 months were the busiest, not too much went on in between.
