@jluv: You should register. If you don’t you may end up with 15 nonreturnable crock-pots and weird decor items you’ll never use.

With a registry you can tell guests what you need/want and most registries allow you to return items for store credit/cash.

You can even register at places like amazon.com now, so you could put anything on a registry!

I did, this is a very common practice to where I’m from.  Guest expect you to register at places so they can pick somethign they know you will like!  It’s a fun process, i owuld recommend it!  It was nice to be able to pick decor and accessories that already match what we have in our home (since we live together already.)

We are still on the fence.  We might register at Target because we both love a lot of things there, but neither one of us care too much.  Most likely we are just going to register our honeymoon.  We are going to Disney World and they offer free wedding registry and you can get money towards your accomadations, your park tickets, or just money that they will put onto one big gift card once you get there.

We registered at BB&B and Crate & Barrel.  Fiance said it was the most fun he had since being engaged!

I am registering because I’m sure there are guests that want to give an actual gift, especially for the shower.  While all I really want and need is money, you kind of have to register for SOMETHING.  I have a house and registered for all the little things that we don’t have.  Extra wine glasses for parties, steak knives, etc.  I just cross my fingers that people give me money for the wedding itself.

We’re registering at Williams Sonoma, Crate and Barrel and Best Buy. 🙂

I hope you have tons of fun doing it! … My fiance gets giddy with the registering gun-thing. 😀

@jluv: We registered yesterday, yay! Macys and Crate & Barrel. It was tiring, but we’re happy with the things we wishlisted. Macys is great because you get reward incentives (5% back on a gift card) for all the purchases your guests make from the registry, and if you have a macy’s credit card, you will get additional rewards for all purchases you make on your card.
