No way.  To me, updating takes me out of the moment/ experience.

I did not. We did have a private moment between the ceremony and reception and even though I ended up losing my phone in the bridal suite shortly after, we did take a peek online to see what pictures people had posted for about 2 minutes, which was fun! We did not go on a honeymoon, but we definitely didn’t update anything that night. I think I went on to update a day or two after, and then I went on his to update his since he 1) didn’t care about updating since he could care less about facebook and 2) had no idea how to do it.

No. I didn’t even get online or on a phone period until we got home that evening! (Didn’t have a honeymoon.) So I changed my relationship status to Married the same day, but not until we got home.

I updated on the way back from the honeymoon.

On the way to the honeymoon (road trip to Canada), we checked out photos on our guests’ FB. It was so exciting!

Nope. To be honest, I knew I wouldn’t have time for it/need it, so I left my phone in our hotel room on the wedding day. Didn’t touch it until we were at the airport the next morning. I tried to update my status on my phone at the airport, but the app wouldn’t let me. I had my mom log into my account at home and do it for me lol.

I had to smile when I saw this post. I actually did not have FB until about 10 months after my wedding, so I did not have to make this decision. That’s probably a VERY good thing!

My Darling Husband always tries to get me to focus on living my life and being present in the moment instead of having my face buried in my phone and posting about my life.  He has a point.  Even without FB, I felt as if I missed most of my reception (due to a number of issues involving my wedding-day timeline being derailed.)

I would hate to feel as if I missed more of our special day while updating about our special day. Given that, I would suggest that you try to resist the temptation to post and instead strive to absorb every second of your wedding day as you are living it.

I don’t get why this is a big deal at all… it would take me literally 15 seconds to update my facebook status to say it’s done… maybe one minute to actually change my relationship status.

I could do it in the car on the way to the reception venue from the ceremony, and it’s less than half a mile.

That said, it probably wouldn’t even occur to me to do it, I’m going to be so excited and in the moment.

Nope. I’m married to my husband, not facebook.

I think it’s sad that anyone would update FB amidst wedding festivities.  Wouldn’t all the people who care you know your status be attending your special event?  Beyond that, what’s wrong with waiting a day or two.  If you’re too in tuned to Facebook, you’re not in tuned enough to your special day and your guests who are celebrating with you.

I was at a wedding this summer, and I was checking my facebook during the gap between the ceremony and reception, and it shocked me to see that the bride had already been on Facebook, changed her name and her relationship status.

I think i’ll probably wait till the next day. Seems a little… ridiculous to me.
