I’m new here, inspired by my boyfriend’s pending proposal (pending because he actually bought my ring today and is just waiting until it’s made to propose) and I’m already in a wedding frenzy.
But I was wondering how many of you actually saw your ring before the proposal? I sort of talked him into showing me a picture because I was super excited/anxious and not really traditional and he agreed.

Technically I don’t have my ‘official’ engagement ring yet. He proposed kind of spur of the moment, so right now we’re just using the ring he got me for a previous anniversary.
I’d be fine with using this one forever, but he insists on getting me a new one. I know which one he is getting me though because I picked it out, haha. I won’t get it until next December though because I won’t see him again until then and we don’t want to risk it being lost in the mail if he shipped it to me while I’m stationed overseas.

I picked my ring out. I tried it on when it was ready for pick up and held it in it’s box on the car ride home then my fiance put it in the safe and I had to wait… it was the longest week ever. lol

Congrats yall! I haven’t seen my ring yet, but he did tell me he bought it today!! He has taken me places to see what caught my eye though. BUT…I won’t be back home until mid-january, so I have to wait! Total wedding-frenzy mode here…

@evylise: Haha I feel you! I’m constantly thinking ‘wedding, wedding, wedding!’ (unless I’m at work) I’ve already picked out my dress, haha. 🙂 Why not till mid-January? It’ll be here before you know it! 🙂

I’ve seen mine, I picked mine out haha.

I thought I had picked mine out and was convinced that the box he hid in my drawer had it inside.
I’m not sure what was more suprising… the proposal, or finally looking at the ring on my finger and seeing an even more beautiful ring on it! I thought I was getting a small, low set, 3 stone princess cut ring and ended up with a 3 stone round cut semi-eternity ring.

His mom gave him his grandma’s e-ring (and others) last christmas. He didn’t keep it a secret long and showed me… and I liked! I would occasionally find where they were hidden to take another peek or two.

We picked the setting out together and I was under the impression he would go back and pick a diamond and then propose… little did I know my dad had given him my grandmothers engagement ring and they put her diamond in my setting. 🙂 So I saw it naked.

I saw mine accidentally on the Verragio facebook page. Knew it had to be mine because of the color of the diamond, the fact that it was yellow gold, and that design he had revealed was in his top 3. I didn’t know it, but he already had it in his possession at the time. I just looked up at him from my laptop all crazy eyed and he was like “crap, I was hoping you’d get off facebook before you saw it” OH WELL!

I saw mine in pieces before Fiance proposed. His mom gave us the loose diamond first, which had been in a ring of his grandmother’s. Then, I picked out the setting for it. I didn’t see the ring after the diamond had been set until he proposed. It was more beautiful than I ever imagined!

I helped choose my ring, but we bought the stone and the setting online at different places, so I didn’t see the actual finished ring until the day he proposed. 🙂

I picked my ring. My SO was nervous at the idea of picking a ring on his own. So we decided to shop together and agree on something. We both fell in love with the same ring. Congrats, hope you get your sparkley soon 🙂

Technically, I did. We went out looking and I narrowed it down to two styles I really liked. I had no idea where he was going to get the ring, or when- but he went back out and got it and had it for about 6 weeks. Turns out it was my favorite from a local jeweler! 🙂

I saw mine before, but it was when we went to look at rings. He wanted me to show him what I liked and didn’t like. I fell in love with my ring, I even bookmarked it and went to look at it everyday. But I didn’t know he had bought it until he proposed.
