We are inviting exactly 200 as of right now expecting about 150 to attend, but I’d like to keep the number around 120 actually attending, so the guest list is going to get some cuts. I have a huge family, and there is a lot of extended (as in, I don’t know them but my parents do) family on there, so I will probably be cutting them from the list.

I invited 66.  We had 10 RSVP no and 2 people RSVP with a plus 1 and they were not asked to bring a plus 1.  We have had a couple ask us to go so that added 2 and then  2 people (one being my fiances god father) not even RSVP at all.  So it looks like 58 people (and that includes the wedding party, parents etc) for our wedding.

When I was engaged 14 years ago I think we were going to have 163 but that was when both my parents were working and obligated to invite people.  AND my mom invited a lot of family.  This time the size of the venue and the amount of money we are speding is QUITE different.

This wedding soup to nuts, including air fare, hotel, dress, wedding bands will cost us about $7k.  A wedding in Boston has never been so yankee frugal, LOL

@asianyoushi:  Well you are one organized bee, lol.  By nature you send them 6-8 weeks before the wedding and the RSVP is about 1.5 to 2 weeks before the wedding so you can round up the laggers to let the caterer know.

We ordered the invitation paper but I designed then and we printed our own.  I loved putting them together.  We printed the addresses on the envelopes etc.  I sent about $1.05/person on the invitation.

We are sending out invites to 75, but I’m really hoping that closer to 65 end up coming!

@madger:  if you go with the 10% rule you will end up with 67 or so.  What I found out is you need to be specific about the +1 situation, LOL

@Ms. Gertie:  i first tried to hand write the addresses… thank GOD I ORDERED EXTRA ENVELOPES cause boy does my handwriting suck.. then i had laptop/printer issues so for the 85 invites envelopes to be printed out it took me 8 hours because things werent lining up the way it said it was. and just frustration. think that was the most fustrating thing of the diy stuff i have done so far..

My list keeps growing!! We sat down and officially rewrote the list on three separate pieces of paper. His family, my family, and friends… Well his side of the family has 75 and we’re thinking about 3/4 of them will come. My family, sadly has 31 people and I think we’d be lucky if 7 of them came lol. Our friends list is roughly 40 people, and most of them will probably come. Lots of people…

    Around 700.

We’re from small towns which seems to equal big weddings.  My sister invited about 600 and my fiance’s sister served 602 at their wedding, I’m not sure how many they exactly invited.

@Ms. Gertie:  Small town also equals much cheaper!  We’ll serve a buffet meal and open bar.

We have right at 25 people on our list. It’s the 2nd marriage for both of us, so we only wanted our parents, grandparents, siblings, children (I have 1, he has 2), and a couple of very close friends there to celebrate with us.
