I was hoping you could help me! I’ll be heading to NYC to bargain down vendors for cheapie pashminas to put into baskets for guests to take (and keep). The hall is indoors, but has a terrace (garden) attached to it and the baskets with the pashminas would be in the baskets. We’re having about 100 guests, so more or less 50 women…
how many pashminas should I purchase?
I don’t want to “run out”, but at the same time I don’t want to end up with a whole bunch of pashminas left over….
Any thoughts/personal experiences?

@MissCatherine: Just FYI, the pashminas on the street here go for $5 typically. I’ve never bought a large amount from a street vendor, so just wanted to give you the typical price so you weren’t surprised. I would think you might be able to bargain them down to $4/piece?
I would probably stick to maybe 30-40. Not everyone is going to take one, especially in July!

I agree with hotchild, 30-40 sounds good to me. If you have leftovers maybe you could sell them on craigslist to recup some of the money!

What a cute idea! I would agree and say you’d be safe with 40. And since you’re buying so many, I bet you could definitely bargain them down to a cheaper price.
Good luck…and you’re definitely a very thoughtful bride!
